Abstract: A method of making functional polyisobutylene (PIB)-containing oligomers and polymers. By the disclosed method, the synthesis of functional PIB-containing polymers can be achieved directly under cationic polymerization conditions and does not include any post-polymerization reactions. The desired functionality is introduced by direct Electrophilic Aromatic Substitution (EAS) reaction using substituted phenyl ring carrying desirable functionalities that do not react with Lewis acid but have weak association with Lewis acid, which still allow living polymerization and EAS reaction under living cationic polymerization conditions. In the disclosed method functional polyisobutylene or isobutylene containing oligomers and polymers can be prepared using stoichiometric or near stoichiometric ratios of the capping or functionalization reagent to polymer end-chain.

Abstract: A single dose pack includes a container composed of a water-soluble film and a wash composition encapsulated within the container. The wash composition includes a detergent surfactant, water present in an amount of from about 5 to about 40 weight percent, based on the total weight of the wash composition, a non-aqueous solvent including a combination of a polyethylene glycol (PEG) polymer having a weight average molecular weight of from about 200 Daltons to about 1,000 Daltons and a polyethyleneimine-ethoxylated (PEI-EO) polymer. The non-aqueous solvent combination of the PEG and PEI-EO polymers is present in an amount of from about 1 to about 15 weight percent, based on the total weight of the wash composition. Furthermore, a weight ratio of the PEG polymer to the PEI-EO polymer is from about 10:1 to about 1:10.

Abstract: A unit dose detergent pack is disclosed. The unit dose detergent pack includes a pouch formed from a water-soluble film and a liquid detergent composition releasably disposed within the pouch. The liquid detergent composition includes an alkanolamine, an acid, a copolymer formed from first and second monomers with the first monomer being diallyldimethylammonium chloride (DADMAC), and an alkali metal sulfite or bisulfite. The copolymer and the alkali metal sulfite or bisulfite interact with at least one of the alkanolamine and the acid to reduce discoloration of the liquid detergent composition.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a polyethoxylated alcohol sulfate composition is provided which includes a polyethoxylated alcohol sulfate, such as sodium laureth ether sulfate (SLES), water, an ionic liquid, and an alcohol. The ionic liquid and the alcohol form a synergistic blend, enabling a significant reduction of the viscosity of the polyethoxylated alcohol sulfate composition. Also provided is an embodiment of a method for modifying the rheology of polyethoxylated alcohol sulfate by use of an ionic liquid and alcohol blend. Finally provided is an embodiment of a detergent composition which is prepared by use of the polyethoxylated alcohol sulfate composition described herein, in addition to other commonly known ingredients.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to blonding agents which serve as a lightening agent for keratinic fibers, in particular human hair. Furthermore, the present disclosure relates to a cosmetic product comprising the blonding agent contained in a packaging impermeable to water vapor. Furthermore, the present disclosure relates to a method for blonding human hair. The blonding agent is an anhydrous, powdered cosmetic composition, wherein the cosmetic composition contains at least one oxidizing compound and a mixture of thickening agents.
Abstract: The present disclosure especially relates to a method, carried out by one or more devices, said method comprising: non-destructively determining structural information that is characteristic of at least part of the structure of a textile (202); ascertaining at least one treatment parameter of the textile (202) at least partly on the basis of said structural information; and outputting or initiating output of the at least one treatment parameter.

Abstract: The split end-reducing effect of anteiso fatty acid quats can be further enhanced by alkyldimethylammonium hydroxypropyl hydrolyzed keratin so that hair treatment agents containing at least one anteiso fatty acid quat and alkyldimethylammonium hydroxypropyl hydrolyzed keratin are particularly effective in reducing split ends.
Abstract: A method for maintaining a consistent, low viscosity profile of a unit dose detergent composition for enhanced hydration and dissolution upon hydration including the steps of: (1) providing a detergent composition including: 0.4 to 9.6 wt. % of an alkoxylated polyamine including an alkoxylated polyamine, an alkyl-ether sulfate, a linear alkylbenzene sulfonate, and a fatty alcohol ethoxylate, wherein the alkyl-ether sulfate, linear alkylbenzene sulfonate, and fatty alcohol ethoxylate are collectively present in an amount of 30 to 70 wt. %, by weight of the detergent composition; and (2) encapsulating the detergent composition in a pouch made of a water soluble film.

Abstract: A wash composition includes a surfactant system, a solvent system, and one or more beneficial compositions. The surfactant system includes a) a linear alkylbenzenesulfonate (LAS), and b) a fatty acid methyl ester ethoxylate (MEE). Optionally, the surfactant system may further include c) an alkyl ether sulfate (AES), and d) a nonionic alcohol ethoxylate (AE). The wash composition may be embodied as a unit dose composition or a heavy-duty liquid. Methods for increasing the effectiveness of fabric cleaning that include using the wash composition are also provided.
