Abstract: A plastic is converted from an initial condition with a higher density into a foamed condition with a lower density using a blowing agent, wherein the plastic is cross-linked prior to foaming by means of a first cross-linking agent and during the foaming by means of at least one second cross-linking agent.
Abstract: Keratin fibers are colored by an agent comprising a coupler which is a m-phenylenediamine derivative of the formula (I) wherein R1 is a C1–C4 alkyl group or a C1–C4 monohydroxyalkyl group; R2 is a methyl or an ethyl group; each of R3 and R4 is independently a branched or unbranched C2–C6 hydroxyalkyl group; and a cosmetically acceptable carrier. These couplers exhibit improved toxicological and dermatological properties and permit hair colorations in a broad color spectrum with good fastness properties.

Abstract: A tri-laminate body panel stiffener includes two polymer layers with or without a backing. One of the layers is a compliant foam layer mounted against a substrate while the other layer is a rigid foam layer mounted against the compliant foam layer. In another aspect of the invention the laminate comprises a backing member having an expandable foam mounted thereto with two or more opposing edges of the laminate being of non-straight construction such as being wavy or saw tooth. A pattern of holes may be formed through the foam and backing layers.
Abstract: An adhesive tape product comprises a length of adhesive tape mounted on a core with a reduced tendency to telescope. A layer of compressible foam is provided between the core and the body of tape wound on the core. Alternatively, the core is fabricated to have a slight bulge in its center giving the core a barrel shape thereby reducing the tendency for the body of tape wound upon the core to telescope.
Abstract: Many prior art processes for cleaning predominantly organic hard surfaces have been found to be considerably less effective in removing very fine particles on such surfaces than are the best cleaners for metallic surfaces. However, it has been found, and forms the basis of this invention, that fine particles can be removed effectively from organic surfaces by an indirect process of first forming a thin solid coating over the surface and then removing the solid coating, into which the fine particles that formerly contaminated the surface to be cleaned have presumably become incorporated. Substantially hydrolyzed poly(vinyl acetate) has been found particularly useful for forming the thin solid coating when this coating is to be removed by treatment with an acidic aqueous solution; acrylate polymers are preferred if the solid coating is to be removed by an alkaline aqueous solution.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for dyeing keratin fibers, especially human hair. The inventive method comprises the following steps: optionally applying a pretreatment agent M1 to the fiber, using a dye M2 on the fiber which is optionally mixed immediately before application to the fiber from a component M2a, containing at least one oxidative dye pre-product of the developer type and/or an indole and/or indole derivative and a component M2b, containing an oxidative dye and/or an enzyme. If desired, a third agent M3 is added to the individual agents M2a or M2b before mixing them or to the mixture M2, and said dye M2 is rinsed from the fiber after a period of 5–10 minutes. At least one of the agents M1, M2a, M2b or M3 contains a compound from the vitamin B6 group. The invention further relates to hair pretreatment agents, to agents for dyeing keratin fibers, to their packing in corresponding kits and to the use thereof.
