    Abstract: Systems and methods for improved monitoring of downhole pump conditions may provide real-time monitoring, high accuracy, and low noise when monitoring downhole pump conditions. Systems for monitoring pump conditions may be coupled to any suitable sucker rod pump, and may gather desired data from the pump. The desired data may be gathered at several points-in-time during a pump stroke to provide real-time monitoring. A wave equation corresponding to the behavior of the downhole pump may be solved when the desired data is received to provide real-time monitor. In some embodiments, the wave equation may be solved by separating it into static and dynamic solutions. In some embodiments, the dynamic solution of the wave equation may be solved utilizing an integral-based method.

    Abstract: A linear pump and motor system includes a motor, rotary-to-linear mechanism, pressure compensation device (PCD), and gas mitigation assembly. The rotary-to-linear mechanism may translate rotation of a motor into linear motion to provide a pumping action. A PCD may minimize a pressure differential between lubrication fluids and external fluids. A gas mitigation assembly may provide a mechanism that mechanically opens a valve. In some embodiments, a PCD may be utilized separately from the linear pump. In some embodiments, a gas mitigation assembly may be utilized separately from the linear pump.

    Abstract: The system and method of the present invention includes an electrical to mechanical converter (EMC), such as a motor, and a hydraulic pump-and-cylinder arrangement that is connected to the electrical to mechanical converter for input, and to a sucker rod pump for output, in at least one embodiment. The entire assembly can be deployed below the level of the well fluid in a well. The EMC-driven hydraulic pump and cylinder can provide reciprocating linear motion to operate the sucker rod pump. In contrast, this linear motion is normally provided by sucker rods connected to a plunger inside a pump barrel and a pumping unit on the surface. The invention provides the required linear motion for the sucker rod pump to operate, but without the need for sucker and a surface pumping unit.
