Patent number: 8393781Abstract: An orbital shaker which provides a shaking motion that is both stable and accurate to allow repeatability is provided, which allows for ease of cleaning of the shaking platform due to its mounting on a drive platform that keeps the entire drive system in an assembled state even if the shaking platform is removed for cleaning. A vibration sensor can also be provided that senses an unbalanced load on the orbital shaker and communicates with the orbital shaker controller to reduce the shaking speed in a pre-determined, trackable manner so that shaking of samples can be continued at a vibration level that is below a threshold value. Additionally, an incubating enclosure can also be provided in which a uniform heat is created throughout the entire incubating chamber in order to assure minimum temperature fluctuations between samples being processed regardless of their position on the shaking platform.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2007Date of Patent: March 12, 2013Assignee: Henry Troemner LLCInventors: Michael D. Manera, Martin P. Yankowy, Michael Elefante, H. William Busch, Jr.

Patent number: 8297465Abstract: A container for housing an object having a housing with an insert movably disposed within the housing to define a receptacle to receive the object. A lid is removably located on the housing to enclose the insert, with an object engaging portion of the lid being in contact with the object. The lid is rotatable on the housing from a first removal position, to a second locking position in which a locking projection on the lid engages a first counter structure on the housing. A driving projection on the lid engages a second counter structure on the insert to rotate the insert with the lid, so that the lid and insert do not move relative to the object as the lid moves to the locking position.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2009Date of Patent: October 30, 2012Assignee: Henry Troemner LLCInventor: Thomas A. Long, Jr.
