Patents Assigned to Herbert S. Fall
  • Patent number: 4200342
Abstract: A drawer slide mechanism for detachably mounting a drawer in a cabinet includes a first slide member for rigidly mounting on the cabinet, a second slide member slidably engaging the first slide member, and a third slide member for rigidly mounting on the drawer. The first slide member provides a pair of facing tracks. The second slide member provides a second pair of tracks in solid bearing engagement with the first tracks. The second slide member further includes a third pair of tracks which face in opposite directions between the tracks of the second pair. The tracks of the third pair form, with a fourth pair of tracks provided on the third slide member, a pair of bearing races for receiving ball- or roller bearings. The fourth tracks face toward one another.

  • Patent number: 4101178
Abstract: A drawer slide mechanism for detachably mounting a drawer in a cabinet includes a first slide portion for permanently mounting on the cabinet, a second slide portion slidably engaging the first slide portion, and a third slide portion for permanently mounting on the drawer. The second slide portion includes upper and lower tracks and a stop formed between the upper and lower tracks and extending into the path of motion of the third slide portion to prevent accidental withdrawal of the third slide portion therefrom. The third slide portion includes a lever having a hook portion for engaging the stop on the second slide portion. The lever is permanently mounted adjacent both of its ends from the third slide portion for slight vertical movement to provide for disengagement of the hook portion from the stop. The lever is pivotally mounted at one of its ends, and its other end includes an elongated slot which extends generally transverse to the direction of drawer motion.

  • Patent number: 4089568
Abstract: A slide assembly includes an improved bearing assembly. The slide assembly includes first and second track members providing two transversely spaced, longitudinally extending parallel bearing races. A stop may be formed in at least one of the track members to project into one of the races. The improved bearing assembly includes first and second sets of bearings for insertion into the first and second races, respectively. The bearings of the first set are separated from one another by a first bearing retainer, and the bearings of the second set are separated from one another by a second retainer. A plate constructed from a substantially thinner material than either of the bearing retainers extends therebetween and connects the first and second retainers for movement together. The plate is loosely connected to the retainers to permit some floating movement of the plate.
