Abstract: The electrofinishing of stainless steel items, especially cutlery items, to a substantially corrosion resistant mirror finish is achieved in two steps, the first step involving electropolishing and the second step passivation of the electropolished surface. Apparatus for effecting the electrofinishing operation is also described.
