    Abstract: A separator for successively seizing threads held in an array includes a frame, in which at least one plate is guided for seizing the threads. The frame is displaceable toward and away from the array. Each plate carries a piercing needle which pierces the thread for seizing it. Each plate can have two piercing needles disposed at a distance from one another and pointing towards one another.
