  • Patent number: 4883392
Abstract: A fly-cutter milling machine for the simultaneous milling of a plurality of profiled structures developed in the form of grooves, surfaces or the like in rotating workpieces by means of a fly cutter which protrudes radially outward on a rotating tool holder and which plunges through the cross section of the workpiece with a speed corresponding to the conditions of the fly-cutting, the speeds of rotation of tool holder and workpiece being in a ratio determined by the desired profiled structure, and in order to increase the range of use of the fly-cutter milling machine, the speed of rotation of the fly cutter over the emerged path differs from that over the plunge path.

  • Patent number: 4863321
Abstract: A fly-cutter milling machine for the simultaneous milling of a plurality of grooves (12) in rotating workpieces (2) by means of a fly cutter (3) which protrudes radially outwards on a rotating tool holder, the speed of revolution of the tool holder and the speed of revolution of the workpiece being in a ratio which is determined by the number of grooves of the workpiece. In order to obtain optimum operation with the groove profile precisely adapted to the tool cutting edge, the rotation of the workpiece (2) is briefly interrupted at the moment of the maximum depth of plunge of the fly cutter (3) by a phase of reduced speed of the workpiece (2).

  • Patent number: 4739536
Abstract: A handle for tools, specifically for screwdrivers, is disclosed. The handle consists of two materials of different hardness, of which the harder material supporting the tool is incompressible under the forces occurring at operational load, whereas the other material permits slight elastic deformations under forces of load. In order to obtain a hand-sympathetic design which nevertheless transmits high torques, the two gripping zones of softer material are situated adjacent to a gripping zone of harder material located between them.

  • Patent number: 4726720
Abstract: A method of milling, with at least one milling cutter, teeth surfaces at an axial free end of a continuously rotatably driven workpiece comprising the steps of cutting the teeth on the continuously driven workpiece with axial relative movement between the workpiece and the milling cutter by rotating the milling cutter with constant speed relative to the rpm pf the workpiece and in the direction of an axial face of the free end of the workpiece, by the rotating milling cutter milling a roof-like surface on one side of the teeth of the workpiece always starting from an axially inwardly located basde of the teeth in a direction toward a ridge of the teeth in every milling, the roof-like surfaces of each tooth tapering toward each other away from the base of said each tooth toward the ridge adjacent the axial face of the free end of the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4629375
Abstract: A chuck for non-circular ends of tool shanks having a bushing forming a chamber corresponding in cross-section to the tool shank and a ball which acts on the shank and is clamped by a spring biased sleeve which forms a wedge against the ball. The ball is mounted in a separate wing which is engaged by the sleeve and is displaceable relative to the bushing so that the ball engages a clamping surface formed by an end ring and the tool shank in a clamping position.

  • Patent number: 4404874
Abstract: A screwdriver with replaceable blade is inserted in the longitudinal direction of the handle from one end in non-rotatable complementary manner into an opening having a non-round cross section with which there is associated a spring for holding the blade by friction. The opening is formed from a socket which is of polygonal shape on an inside and an outside thereof and a part (x) of the length thereof is held in non-rotatable complementary manner within the handle while the remaining length (y) thereof projects beyond an end surface of the handle said socket being formed on an inner wall thereof with an annular groove, and a spring of ring shape is disposed partly in the groove.

  • Patent number: 4164891
Abstract: A machine for simultaneously milling several grooves in rotating workpieces by means of a rotating one-toothed milling tool, whereby the rotational speeds of the milling tool and workpiece stand in a ratio determined by the number of grooves, and whereby the milling tool in the longitudinal direction from the free end of the workpiece--freely-cutting--is plunged in the workpiece which is advanced in the longitudinal movement. The tool carrier is pivotable about an axis lying perpendicularly to the rotational axis of the workpiece such that the rotational plane of the cutter tool is able to be brought in an acute angle relative to the rotational axis of the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4024615
Abstract: A knife head, particularly for multi-edge lathes having knives held in plates and braceable in their operating position, which plates are adjustable, in order to obtain a radial adjustability of the knives, by means of an eccentric tool which is insertable in a bore in the knife head. There is coordinated to the eccentric tool-insertion bore which is directed onto the rear surface of the plate, a recess laterally offset thereto which is formed in the rear wall of the plate for the insertion therein of an eccentrically offset end of the eccentric tool.
