Publication number: 20190056299Abstract: An enzymatic sample purifier comprises a reaction chamber containing an enzyme, a product chamber and a separator. The reaction chamber has a port to receive a sample comprising a protein degradation product. The separator retains polypeptides resulting from reaction of the protein degradation product with the enzyme in the reaction chamber and facilitates transport of purified remaining portions of the sample comprising a target analyte to the product chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 29, 2016Publication date: February 21, 2019Applicant: Hewlett-Packard DevelopmentInventors: Viktor SHKOLNIKOV, Anita ROGACS

Patent number: 7819615Abstract: A method of finishing a plurality of sheets for a bound document. The method comprises accumulating a stack of sheets at a first position, scoring the sheets at the first position, and outputting the stack of scored sheets from the first position.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2005Date of Patent: October 26, 2010Assignee: Hewlett-Packard DevelopmentInventors: Steven William Trovinger, Miquel Boleda, Abdolreza Movaghar, Greg Burke, Eng-Long Goh

Publication number: 20090028487Abstract: A micro-ring configured to selectively detect or modulate optical energy includes at least one annular optical cavity; at least two electrodes disposed about the optical cavity configured to generate an electrical field in the at least one optical cavity; and an optically active layer optically coupled to the at least one optical cavity. A method of manipulating optical energy within a waveguide includes optically coupling at least one annular optical cavity with the waveguide; and selectively controlling an electrical field in the at least one annular optical cavity to modulate optical energy from the waveguide.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2007Publication date: January 29, 2009Applicant: Hewlett-Packard DevelopmentInventors: David A. Publication number: 20050185313Abstract: A data reader arranged to produce a signal on reading a data holding medium (4), said data reader comprising processing circuitry (8) arranged to process said signal, said processing circuitry including a filter (14) having a variable cut-off frequency (Fc), a velocity signal generator (23) arranged to produce a signal (21) corresponding to the velocity of the data holding medium (4), and a processor (22), said processor (22) being arranged to read the velocity signal (21) and set the cut-off frequency (Fc) of the filter (14). The data reader is generally arranged to be incorporated into a tape drive (2) arranged to be used as a computer data storage device.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2005Publication date: August 25, 2005Applicant: HEWLETT-PACKARD DEVELOPMENTInventors: Peter Walsh, Rafel Jibry

Publication number: 20050177766Abstract: Each processor in a distributed multi-processor environment maintains a set of connectivity condition scores. The connectivity condition scores are then passed to a pruning process with tie-breaker logic that selects certain of the processors to include in the new system configuration. The surviving processors are selected based on primary connectivity information and secondary processor connectivity condition scores. The result of the pruning/tie-breaker process is transmitted to all of the surviving processors, which continue to maintain connectivity information that can be used in the next regroup incident.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2004Publication date: August 11, 2005Applicant: Hewlett-Packard DevelopmentInventors: Man-Ho Lee, Kousik Bera, Marcelo de Azevedo

Patent number: 6771187Abstract: This invention relates to printing stations. Such structures of this type, generally, proved for a printing station to be located in the back of mass transit vehicle seats such that the mass transit rider can be able to view and subsequently print that viewed information.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2002Date of Patent: August 3, 2004Assignee: Hewlett-Packard DevelopmentInventor: Kevin Lloyd Falk

Patent number: 6682167Abstract: A method for reducing a servicing noise is provided. In a measuring action, a servicing position is measured using a full pushing force of an actuator applied to a service station. In a disengaging action, the actuator is disengaged from the service station. In a reducing action, the pushing force is reduced to a minimum value. In an engaging action, the service station is engaged with the actuator. In a monitoring action, a position of the actuator is monitored during the engagement. In a comparing action, the actuator position is compared to the stored servicing position. In an increasing action, the pushing force is increased for future engagements if the servicing position has not been reached. A printing mechanism configured to employ such a method is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2002Date of Patent: January 27, 2004Assignee: Hewlett-Packard DevelopmentInventors: Robert D. Davis, Mike Burton, Bruce A. Axten, Jafar N. Jefferson, Daniel J. Magnusson
