Abstract: An electronic device (100) includes a network interface controller (102) and an input/output controller (110, 202) having a link layer. A portion of the input/output controller is configured to be powered off during a lower power mode of the electronic device, where the first portion contains the link layer. Wakeup logic (108) separate from the input/output controller receives a wake indication from the network interface controller in response to the physical layer receiving a wake message on the network while the electronic device is in the lower power mode. The wakeup logic activates an indication to awaken the electronic device from the lower power mode in response to the wake indication from the network interface controller.

The method also includes coupling an intelligent interface converter (IIC) between the at least one battery module and an electrical load, the IIC having a second register with at least one battery parameter. The method also includes communicating the at least one battery parameter to a user for reporting and management operations.

Abstract: An audio signal is monitored to detect the presence of a call to action contained therein. Addressing information is automatically extracted from the call to action and stored on a storage medium. An electronic message responding to the call to action may be automatically prepared, or a contact field may be automatically populated for inclusion in a contact list. The audio signal may be digitized or obtained from a broadcast transmission, and the process may be performed by a mobile communication device, a central system, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: Disclosed is a print medium for high speed, digital inkjet printing, which has high brightness and is resistant to yellowing. The print medium includes a base paper formed from a fiber furnish containing at least 30% by weight of mechanical pulp, and a coating layer formed on at least one surface of the base paper. The coating layer contains a metallic salt, a combination of two different binders at a predetermined ratio, and at least one inorganic pigment. A method of making the print medium is also disclosed.

Abstract: An attachment apparatus is described herein. The attachment apparatus includes a band and a mounting member that extends from the band. The mounting member is adapted to couple an external power supply to the attachment apparatus. The attachment apparatus further includes a fastener member that extends from the band. The fastener member is adapted to couple the attachment apparatus to an exterior panel of an electronic device that is powered by the external power supply.

Abstract: A compact removable voice handset for an integrated palmtop computer system/mobile phone is presented. The present invention is used in conjunction with a personal digital assistant (PDA). The PDA comprises electronics for wireless communications and a contact information database and a means for coupling the handset to the PDA. The present invention is compact such that when coupled to the PDA, there is minimal increase to the overall size and weight of the PDA. The present invention comprises a microphone and a speaker, and is communicatively coupled, via either a wireless connection or a wired connection, to the PDA. The handset comprises control elements such that the handset can be operated independent of the PDA. In one embodiment, the handset comprises a display and control elements configured for accessing the contact information database of the PDA, adjusting the volume of the handset, and for initiating or ending wireless communications.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a computer-implemented method of identifying spatial image modifications. The method includes receiving a original image and a adjusted image. The method also includes identifying a first subset of pixels comprising pixels in the original image that have a same first color value. The method also includes determining whether a second subset of pixels in the adjusted image all have a same second color value, wherein the second subset of pixels spatially correspond with the first subset of pixels. A spatial adjustment is identified if the second subset of pixels do not all have the same second color value.

Abstract: A portable electronic device is disclosed. The portable electronic device includes a wireless transceiver, a processor coupled to the wireless transceiver, a memory coupled to the processor and a program stored in the memory and running on the processor. The program provides automatic transitioning between a wireless infrastructure communication mode to an ad-hoc communication mode. The infrastructure mode is used when a request from a mobile device is received to access a communications network. The ad-hoc mode is used when a request from the mobile device is received to access resources on the portable electronic device.

Abstract: Liquid electrophotographic ink concentrates and methods of preparing the same are disclosed herein. An example of the method includes preparing a mixture of ink components using a first predetermined thermal profile. The ink components include a resin, a pigment, and a carrier. The method further includes preparing a microfluidizer with a composition at a temperature within a predetermined range and processing the mixture in the prepared microfluidizer to form the concentrate. Processing the mixture includes pressure-feeding the mixture into the prepared microfluidizer, passing the mixture through the prepared microfluidizer for a predetermined number of times, and utilizing a second predetermined thermal profile while passing the mixture through the prepared microfluidizer. A viscosity modifier is added to the mixture before and/or during the processing of the mixture.

Abstract: A server computer system includes a set of visual indicators for representing status of one or more data storage devices that are connected to one or more nodes of the server system. Control circuitry has at least first and second bus interfaces and is configured to set the state of the visual indicators responsive to signals received through the bus interfaces, and to operate in at least first and second configurable modes. In the first mode, both of the first and the second bus interfaces communicate with a single node. In the second mode, the first bus interface communicates with a first node and the second bus interface communicates with a second node.

Abstract: Examples directed to methods and systems for generating and rendering a template for a pre-defined layout. For example, an underlying graph structure of a pre-defined layout comprising at least one pre-placed object is determined. Information from the underlying graph structure is placed into a plurality of matrices. One or more pre-placed object parameters of the pre-defined layout are also determined. The plurality of matrices are utilized in conjunction with the one or more pre-placed object parameters to determine location coordinates and size information for the one or more pre-placed objects. In so doing, a template based on the location coordinates and size information for the one or more pre-placed objects is rendered.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a location-based audio service. According to one embodiment, a request for a desired audio stream having an inactive segment is received from a user operating a mobile device. Furthermore, geographic data may be monitored while the audio stream is being rendered on the mobile device. The location-based audio service is configured to determine relevant location-based information based on the geographic data, and then transmit the relevant information to the mobile device during the inactive segment of the desired audio stream.

In one embodiment, the system includes an ink supply that contains ink to be delivered to a printhead of the printer and an ink buffer having a capacity that is smaller than a capacity of the ink supply, the ink buffer being configured to be repeatedly filled with ink from the ink supply and to deliver that ink to the printhead.

Abstract: A translation look-aside buffer (TLB) is described. The TLB may include a memory populated with pointers to collections (e.g., tables) of virtual-to-physical address translations. The memory may be populated by, for example, a page fault logic in response to resolving a page fault. The TLB may also include a signal logic to receive a virtual address and to selectively provide either a miss signal or a pointer to a collection of virtual-to-physical translations. The signal may provide the miss signal upon determining that the virtual address is not associated with a stored pointer and may provide a pointer upon determining that the virtual address is associated with the pointer.

Abstract: An inkjet printing apparatus includes a media transport unit to transport a print media along a print media transport path, at least one printhead assembly including an inkjet printhead having a plurality of nozzles to print on a select portion of the print media, the inkjet printhead forming a print region adjacent to the nozzles in an area between the printhead assembly and a print portion of the print media transport path, and at least one of an electrostatic discharge unit to neutralize a resulting electrical charge on at least the select portion of the print media before the at least select portion of the print media enters the print region and a neutralization unit to neutralize an electric field in the print region.

Abstract: A method executed by a computer of generating a repurposed document includes: providing a representation of a first document with no explicitly defined structure, extracting structural information for the first document using a set of predefined rules, determining a first content item formatted using a first style of the first document using the structural information, applying a second style to the first content item in order to generate a second content item, and generating the repurposed document using the second content item, wherein a visual significance hierarchical score is maintained between the first and second content items.
