  • Patent number: 8381898
Abstract: An apparatus for pushing hollow glass articles from a depositing plate of an IS glass molding machine onto a belt conveyor comprises a transfer pusher (11), one end of which is rigidly connected to a vertical shaft (10) and the other end of which carries an arrangement of pushing fingers for the glass articles. The shaft (10) is supported in a rotary table (6) and functionally connected to a first rotary drive (13) carried by the rotary table while the rotary plate (6) is mounted on a bell-shaped bearing (24) supported on a console (1) by means of a hollow shaft (22), namely such that it is functionally connected to a second rotary drive (15?). An approximately exponential transfer curve of the pushing fingers that begins at the depositing plate and ends on the belt conveyor and subjects the hollow glass articles to the least possible stress can be realized.

  • Patent number: 7913518
Abstract: A process and a device for pushing hollow glass objects off a glass forming machine onto a moving conveyor belt are disclosed. Each hollow glass object is pushed by a push-off unit from a dead plate along a curved path onto the conveyor belt in such a way that the curved path is brought tangentially to a contact point in a movement direction of the conveyor belt. Subsequent to the contact point each hollow glass object is pushed further by the push-off unit by a further linear path portion in the movement direction of the conveyor belt as far as a release point at which the push-off unit is released from the hollow glass object. The push-off unit is then moved back to dead plate.

  • Publication number: 20100058808
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for supplying lubricating points of an I.S. glassware forming machine, wherein a used lubrication system comprises a plurality of lubricant metering devices (29) that are provided to output lubricant to a plurality of lubricating points, that are to be lubricated, of the glassware forming machine and are allocated in each case to one of several lubrication circuits (23-28). The lubricant metering devices of a respective lubrication circuit simultaneously output a predetermined amount of lubricant in each case cyclically with a time interval allocated to the lubrication circuit. The lubricant metering devices are allocated to lubrication circuits in dependence upon temperatures that have been measured in direct proximity to lubricating points, and are allocated such that the temperatures of the lubricating points of a lubrication circuit are within a predetermined temperature range.

  • Patent number: 7477374
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a device for examining a container mouth for defects in a mouth sealing surface. A light source emits light beams having a direction component impinging tangentially upon the sealing surface. The tangential light beams are scattered as they impinge upon a defect in the sealing surface. At least some of these scattered light beams are detected by a sensor. The tangential direction component is produced by an optical deflecting element disposed between the light source and the mouth. The optical deflecting element is transparent at least to light of certain wavelengths and deflects impinging light beams accordingly. The invention renders it possible to amplify contrasts between defects and other reflections from the sealing surface during the detection of defects in the sealing surface.

  • Patent number: 7278282
Abstract: A device for transferring an object from a dead plate of an Individual Section glass-forming machine to a conveyor belt is disclosed. The device includes a first shaft rotatable about an axis. A housing is attached to the first shaft. A carrying arm is slidably mounted on the housing and has a finger at one end for engaging the object. A guide piece having a groove is attached to the other end of the carrying arm. A crank arm engages the groove. The crank arm is connected to a second shaft coaxial with the first shaft. The shafts rotate independently of one another. Each shaft has its own drive unit. Rotation of the first shaft rotates the carrying arm about the first axis and rotation of the second shaft causes sliding motion of the carrying arm along its longitudinal axis.

  • Publication number: 20060162472
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device (65) for examining a container mouth (4) for defects in a mouth sealing surface (3), wherein a light source (5) serves to emit light beams (22?a,22?b) on to the mouth (4) such that they comprise a direction component impinging tangentially upon the sealing surface (3) and are scattered as they impinge upon a defect in the sealing surface (3), wherein at least some of these scattered light beams (26) are detected by means of a sensor (18?). The tangential direction component is produced by virtue of the fact that in the beam path between the light source (5) and the mouth (4) there is disposed an optical deflecting element (39?) which is transparent at least to light of a certain wavelength and deflects such impinging light beams (22) accordingly. The invention renders it possible to utilize simple means to amplify contrast during the detection of defects in the sealing surface (3).

  • Publication number: 20060147794
Abstract: The invention relates to a battery holder 30 for an electronic device. In order to provide an improved possibility of exchanging a battery of an electronic device, it is proposed that the battery holder 30 comprises an outer surface 31, means 32 for receiving an exchangeable battery 20 and means 33, 34 for connecting the battery holder 30 releasably to an electronic device. The latter means enable a connection of the battery holder to the electronic device in a way that electrical contact elements 21 of a battery 20 received by said battery holder 30 come into contact with electrical contact elements of the electronic device and that the outer surface 31 of the battery holder 30 forms part of the outer surface of the electronic device. The invention relates equally to a corresponding electronic device and to a cover for such an electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20050268654
Abstract: The invention concerns a process or respectively a device for the production of various masses of glass gobs during the manufacture of glass objects, using a glass forming machine (55), where molten liquid glass is flowing out of at least one gob outlet (5?) of a feeder head (3?) of a feeder (4?), and a cyclically operated pair of shears (46) separates the gobs (57). The mass of successive gobs (57) is modified by varying the time interval from shear cut to shear cut. In order to produce a product range of a number of glass objects of different weights, a predetermined time section of the feeder head operation, within which the relevant number of gobs (57) are to be produced, is divided into various time intervals from shear cut to shear cut, depending on the ratio of the desired gob masses. In accordance with the invention, a production of the product range can be achieved in a relatively simple way.

  • Patent number: 6967319
Abstract: A device for checking a container neck for the presence of an incline is disclosed. A pressure-contact head, which can be lowered onto the container, has means for holding and centering the container. A checking part, which can be moved angularly relative to the horizontal, is urged onto the neck and correlates in its angular position relative to the horizontal plane with the incline of the neck. Means for scanning the angular position of the checking part relative to the horizontal plane are provided along with an evaluating unit which uses measurement values provided by the scanning means to generate an information signal relating to the incline of the neck. An actuator, controlled by the evaluating unit, screens the container and rejects it if the information signal is beyond a permissible threshold value.
