Abstract: An improved fishing rod butt component that has only one non-rusting, self-latching, moving part which can rotate smoothly from a self-locking literal alignment with the fishing rod into a non-injurious, moveable within ninety (90) degrees to a lower barrel T shaped body (e.g., requiring no positioning pins, levers, potentially rusting springs, screws, wooden covers, wedges or retainers) to be held against the body of the fisherman or user during a fish fight. The fishing rod butt can be retro-fitted as an improvement to an existing or pre-owned fishing rod that needs additional comfort and stability also includes a gimbal butt apparatus.
