Abstract: A soft-sided carrying case comprises a compartment having a plurality of sidewalls, a front wall, a back wall, a top wall, and a bottom wall, the back wall having a flap, the flap disposed on the back wall and shiftable between a closed position and an open position to conceal and reveal a back pack configuration. The backpack configuration includes a pair of shoulder straps secured to the back wall and a waist belt. The waist belt is secured to the flap and is foldable about a waist belt hinge so as to lie flat. The carrying case may also include a plurality of wheels and a telescoping handle to use the carrying case in a manner similar to a luggage cart.

The soft-sided carrying case includes a lower compartment, with the lower compartment including a plurality of sidewalls, a top wall and a bottom wall. A first upper compartment is provided, with the first upper compartment having a plurality of sidewalls, a top wall, and a bottom wall, and with the first upper compartment pivotally meeting the lower compartment along a first line of intersection. A second upper compartment is disclosed, with the second upper compartment having a plurality of sidewalls, a top wall, and a bottom wall, and with the second upper compartment pivotally meeting the first upper compartment along a second line of intersection. The first and second upper compartments are both pivotable about their respective lines of intersection between folded positions in which the first and second upper compartments overlie the lower compartment and unfolded positions.

Abstract: A convertible seat and tote bag apparatus includes a first panel foldable relative to a second panel. A support member is adapted to interconnect the first panel and second panel so that when a person sits on one of the panels, the support member restrains rearward movement of the other panel as the person leans against the other panel. In one aspect of the invention, a pair of connectors extend from opposite side edges of the first panel and are adapted to be removably attached to corresponding side edges of the second panel to define a tote bag. In another aspect of the invention, a connector is attached to one of the first and second panels and is adapted to releasably engage the support member to define a handle when the apparatus is configured as a tote bag.

Abstract: A carrying case is provided for electronic equipment such as a notebook computer. The carrying case includes a frame defining a area for placing the electronic equipment therein such that the frame is in at least partial surrounding relation relative to the electronic equipment. The frame includes a top frame portion and side frame portions extending generally perpendicularly from opposite ends of said top frame portion. A sling includes a first flexible material section and a second flexible material section. The first section depends from a front edge of the top frame portion such that a free end portion thereof is positioned a predetermined distance from the top frame portion. The second section has a back portion positioned in substantially the same vertical plane defined by a back edge of the top frame portion and has a free opposite end portion. A fastener is also provided for releasably securing to each other the free end portions of the first and second sections to define a cradle in the area.
