Abstract: A system for handling multi-touch input on a computing device enables the device to handle multi-touch input where each touch input is provided to a separate application executing on the device. In response to a first touch input, a first application generates and registers a first connection point with a link component. Similarly, a second application generates and registers a second connection point in response to a second touch input. The link component then provides the second connection point to the first application and notifies the first application that it should complete a communication connection with the second application. The two applications then exchange information to determine a coordinator application that will execute first in response to the input. The information exchange may include a handshake process in which each application may request or provide information and notify the other application that it will or will not execute an operation.

Abstract: Electronic devices with surface features are disclosed. The electronic devices includes a processor and a display operatively coupled to the processor for presenting outputs to a user. The electronic devices also includes a housing having a first portion and a second portion coupled to the first portion to form an enclosure containing the processor and the display. The second portion includes a plurality of edges proximate to the first portion, an end surface spaced apart from the edges, and a plurality of side surfaces extending between the edges and the end surface. At least one of the side surfaces is canted relative to the end surface.

Abstract: Electronic devices with sensible orientation structures are disclosed. The electronic devices can include a faceplate having a faceplate surface and a display at or near the faceplate surface for providing content to a user. The electronic devices can also include an input device proximate to the display for accepting input from the user. The electronic devices can further include a sensible orientation structure carried by the faceplate and at a fixed relative position relative to the input device. The sensible orientation structure is configured to provide the user with positional feedback relative to the input device via touching.

Abstract: Electronic devices with sliding and tilting mechanisms are disclosed. The electronic device can include a first electronic component having a handheld display, a second electronic component having a handheld keyboard, and a coupling slidably and pivotably connecting the first and second electronic components. Accordingly, the first and second electronic components can both slide and pivot relative to each other.
