  • Patent number: 9471168
Abstract: A touch sensing device includes a first conductive layer that acts as a common voltage layer in a display mode; and a second conductive layer electrically isolated from the first conductive layer, the second conductive layer having source lines that transfer data to be displayed in the display mode and act as transmitting (TX) electrode lines in a touch sensing mode. The first conductive layer includes RX electrode lines and blocks that are disposed among and separated by the RX electrode lines. The RX electrode lines and the blocks are electrically connected to a common voltage in the display mode.

  • Patent number: 8726214
Abstract: A floorplanning method for an analog integrated circuit layout is disclosed. A first-type block is defined as a movable and deformable block with rectangle constraint, and a second-type block is defined as a fixed-size block without rectangle constraint. Each block in the floorplan is classified to the first-type or the second-type block. In a shape determination stage, a target shape is determined among candidates of the first-type block, the first-type block accordingly being modified to the target shape, resulting in at least one overlap in the floorplan. In an overlap elimination stage, neighboring blocks of each said overlap are analyzed, the overlap being then eliminated by utilizing surrounding space, resulting in unused space in the floorplan. In an enlargement stage, the unused space is utilized for enlarging the first-type block.

  • Patent number: 8654852
Abstract: Circuits for performing motion estimation (ME) and motion compensation (MC) are disclosed. In the ME circuit, rows of a first register are correspondingly coupled to rows of a first memory that stores a search range of a first frame, and rows of a second register are correspondingly coupled to rows of a second memory that stores a search range of a second frame. Block-matching metric calculations are performed through the search range to obtain a motion vector (MV). In the MC circuit, first multiplexers couples each row of a first register to corresponding row of a first memory, and each macro block (MB) may accordingly be selected from the first memory and loaded into the first register. Second multiplexers couples each row of a second register to corresponding row of a second memory, and each MB may accordingly be selected from the second memory and loaded into the second register.

  • Patent number: 8610707
Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) imaging system and method are disclosed. A motion estimation and motion compensation (MEMC) unit performs the motion estimation (ME) and the motion compensation (MC) on a reference frame and a current frame, thereby generating an MEMC generated frame and motion vector (MV) information. A depth controller partitions the reference frame into multiple regions according to the MV information, thereby generating depth information. A scene-mode depth generator generates a depth map according to the reference frame and the depth information. A depth-image-based rendering (DIBR) unit generates a scene-mode generated frame according to the reference frame and the depth map.

  • Patent number: 7782753
Abstract: A method of channel estimation used in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system. Firstly, a plurality of synchronized signals are received respectively from a plurality of sub-channels, and the channel responses of two sub-channels are known. Then, the channel responses of other channels are estimated by the statistical property derived from Jake's model according to two sub-channels whose channel responses are known.
