Patent number: 11494209Abstract: An improved browser application that provides a view with the option of displaying simultaneously content of a plurality of “tabs” of the browser application on one or more displays, regardless of whether the tabs are active or inactive, is described herein. For example, the browser application can display simultaneously the content of multiple tabs and allow a user to resize and reposition the content of any one tab independent of the size, position, or number of other displayed tab content. Thus, in some circumstances, the content of one tab can partially or fully overlap (and therefore partially or fully hide) the content of another tab after a user manipulation of the size or position of tab content.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2020Date of Patent: November 8, 2022Assignee: Hiperwall, Inc.Inventors: Stephen F. Patent number: 10037184Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments of the inventions, a display system is disclosed for manipulation of images on tiled displays. The display system can include at least one discrete display device and a control module configured to allow a user to move a graphical representation of an image to a plurality of positions on the at least one discrete display device to thereby define a requested position. The control module can be configured to determine a difference between the requested position and a plurality of predetermined positions on the at least one discrete display device. The control module can also be configured to move and/or stretch the image toward one of the predetermined positions based on the determination of the determined difference.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2017Date of Patent: July 31, 2018Assignee: Hiperwall, Inc.Inventors: Stephen F. Jenks, Sung-Jin Kim, Jeff Greenberg

Patent number: 9942622Abstract: A system synchronizes one or more media streams, such as video stream or audio streams, by embedding frame identifiers in each compressed media stream, and then by using synchronizing signals to render each frame simultaneously by referencing the embedded frame identifier. Since the frame identifier is embedded in between encoded frames of the compressed media stream without altering any of the compressed, encoded data, the frame identifier information could be rapidly embedded without creating lag associated with manipulating existing data. This technique could be used, for example, to synchronize a single HD video on a plurality of display devices (e.g. a football game on a wall of video monitors), or to synchronize a plurality of HD video streams on a single display device (e.g. a plurality of live video feeds on a single computer monitor).Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2015Date of Patent: April 10, 2018Assignee: Hiperwall, Inc.Inventors: Qian Zhang, Sung-Jin Kim, Stephen Francis Jenks

Patent number: 9870193Abstract: A display system is disclosed for animation of media objects on tiled displays. The display system can include a plurality of discrete display nodes and a control module configured to determine a graphical representation of a current state of a media object. The control module can be configured to determine a graphical representation of a future state of the media object. The control module can also be configured to determine a path area on the display nodes comprising a plurality of graphical representations of the media object during a change from the current state to the future state. The control module also can be configured to cause the display nodes overlapping with at least a portion of the path area to prepare to display the media object.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2014Date of Patent: January 16, 2018Assignee: Hiperwall, Inc.Inventors: Sung-Jin Kim, Stephen F.
