Publication number: 20240167610Abstract: The present invention relates to a tube for transporting fluids in seawater. The tube has a tubular body formed of an alloy selected from duplex stainless steel, superduplex stainless steel, a ferritic steel, a martensitic steel or a nickel superalloy and a layer configured to protect the tube from hydrogen induced stress cracking arranged on an outer surface of the tubular body. The layer is formed of an alloy having a copper content of 50-95 wt % and a nickel content of 5-50 wt %. The tube has a metallurgical bond, formed in the solid state, at an interface between the tubular body and the layer. The metallurgical bond is formed by a hot isostatic pressing process for a predetermined time at a predetermined pressure and a predetermined temperature. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a tube. The present invention also relates to a subsea arrangement.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 1, 2022Publication date: May 23, 2024Applicant: HIPtec ASInventor: David JARVIS

Patent number: 11766737Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a solid metal based component. The method comprising the steps of providing a plurality of metal based sheets; arranging the plurality of metal based sheets in a stack, 5 wherein the stack comprises a first metal based sheet, a last metal based sheet and at least one intermediate metal based sheet; perimetrically sealing at least a portion of the stack forming at least one cavity inside of the stack; removing gas from said at least one cavity, and subjecting the stack to a hot isostatic pressing process for a predetermined time at a predetermined 10 pressure and a predetermined temperature so that the plurality of metal based sheets of the stack bond metallurgically to each other to form a solid metal based component. The invention further relates to a single-piece metal based component.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2018Date of Patent: September 26, 2023Assignee: HIPTEC ASInventor: David Jarvis

Patent number: 11161176Abstract: A method for coating a metal based component surface wherein said metal based component has an inner and/or outer surface portion that is to be coated, and which surface portion comprises a carbide forming composition. A cavity having one or more cavity walls, wherein said at least one inner and/or outer surface portion forms at least a portion of said one or more cavity walls is provided, and a portion of the cavity is filled with diamond powder. Thereafter gas is removed from the interface between said diamond powder and said at least one inner and/or outer surface portion, and the cavity is subjected to a hot pressing process for a predetermined time at a predetermined pressure and a predetermined temperature such that said diamond powder diffusion bonds to said at least one one inner and/or outer surface portion. Finally at least a part of said diamond powder is removed from said at least one cavity.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2018Date of Patent: November 2, 2021Assignee: HIPtec ASInventor: David Jarvis

Patent number: 11040399Abstract: The inventive concept relates to a method for manufacturing a metal based component (100, 200) having a cavity (103, 203). The method comprises the steps of: providing a plurality of individual segments (110, 210) corresponding to different portions of the metal based component; arranging the plurality of segments in a stack (120, 220) in such a way that the shape of the stack corresponds to the shape of the metal based component, and that a void (130, 230) is formed in the stack, wherein the shape of at least a portion of the void corresponds to the shape of the cavity; filling at least the first 10 portion of the void with an incompressible filler (140, 240); removing gas from the stack; subjecting the stack to a hot pressing process to form the metal based component comprising the cavity; removing at least a part of the incompressible filler from the metal based component.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2018Date of Patent: June 22, 2021Assignee: HIPTEC ASInventor: David Jarvis
