  • Patent number: 8740799
Abstract: A signal generation unit 10 generates, and sends to a transmission circuit 12, a driving signal for forming a transmission pulse. A probe 14 is transmission controlled to transmit ultrasound at a transmission frequency which is set using, as a reference, a resonance frequency of a bubble administered into a living organism, and also at a transmission sound pressure which is set using an expansion ratio of the bubble as a reference. The signal generation unit 10 outputs a transmission pulse having a waveform corresponding to a center frequency of about 1.5 MHz and a transmission sound pressure of about 200 to 300 kPa. With this structure, it is possible to increase a harmonic component obtained from the bubble while suppressing a harmonic component obtained from real tissue, so that extremely high CTR can be obtained.

  • Publication number: 20140105478
Abstract: Ultrasonic image data from a plurality of time phases are stored in an image storage unit (22). A pattern matching unit (30) searches the image data in a search time phase for moving points corresponding to set points in the image data in a reference time phase, on the basis of a correlation operation performed on the image data. In this way, moving points for set points are searched across a plurality of time phases. A diagnostic information generating unit (40) then determines the main direction of movement of the set points across the plurality of time phases based on the moving points searched across the plurality of time phases, and diagnostic information is obtained by evaluating the movement of the set points with reference to the main direction.

Abstract: An ultrasound diagnostic apparatus generates Doppler waveform images whose visibility is improved appropriately in accordance with changes in measurement conditions. The ultrasound diagnostic apparatus includes a frequency-analyzing unit that generates frequency spectrum data on Doppler shift frequency components of ultrasonic waves that are received after being transmitted towards a subject and reflected in the subject, and a line data generating unit for generating line data, wherein arrays of multiple pixels are stipulated according to the corresponding frequencies and each pixel value represents the magnitude of the Doppler shift frequency component, based on the frequency spectrum data. The ultrasound diagnostic apparatus determines whether or not each pixel of line data at a previously appointed time point is a noise pixel, and the values of pixels that are determined to be noise pixels are adjusted by multiplying the pixel value with a weighting factor (w) of 0 to less than 1.

  • Patent number: 8649478
Abstract: An X-ray CT scanner performs CT imaging twice on a single imaging site such that respiratory phases relative to rotation of a measuring unit (X-ray generator and X-ray detector) are inverted with respect to each other. For determining a start time of the second CT imaging, a respiration cycle and the like are calculated according to projection data acquired by the first CT imaging. Further, sinograms 70a and 70b are generated, on each of which sets of projection data acquired from each CT imaging are arranged in the order of rotational angles. Subsequently, a corrected sinogram is generated in which sets of data fluctuated portions b and f attributable to respiration in the first sinogram 70a are replaced with data of the corresponding portions in the second sinogram 70b. Finally, a tomographic image is generated on the basis of the corrected sinogram.

  • Patent number: 8600129
Abstract: An ultrasonic volume data processing device which forms a three-dimensional image of a target tissue in a living body is provided. A range in which a rendering process is applied is limited by a three-dimensional region of interest (3D-ROI). The three-dimensional region of interest has a clipping plane as a rendering start surface. A shape of the clipping plane can be deformed into a convex shape or a concave shape by a user operation, and the clipping plane may be freely inclined in two-dimensional directions. With this configuration, for example, the clipping plane can be suitably positioned in a gap between a face of a fetus and a placenta. When the curved clipping plane is used, a striped pattern noise tends to be formed in the three-dimensional image. In order to resolve or reduce the striped pattern noise, a special voxel calculation is applied to a final voxel of each ray in the voxel calculation for each ray.

  • Publication number: 20130261508
Abstract: When a user designates a treatment range on a diagnostic image, a switch (12) selects a transmitter for treatment (16). Ultrasound with intensity for treatment is thereby transmitted from a probe (10) to the inside of an organism. When the treatment operation continues for a prescribed time, a control unit (18) controls the switch (12) to select a transmitter for diagnosis (14). The probe (10) thereby emits an ultrasound beam for diagnosis, senses an echo thereof, generates a diagnostic image, and carries out an inspection of a positional shift of the site to be treated. In the inspection, the control unit (18) compares the diagnostic image with a reference image, and if a significant difference is detected therebetween, determines that a shift has occurred, issues an alarm, and urges the user to correct the positional shift. It is possible to resume the treatment when the positional shift has been corrected.

  • Patent number: 8480586
Abstract: An ultrasound diagnosis apparatus having a transmission circuit which generates a transmission signal is provided. The transmission signal corresponds to a combined waveform of a trapezoidal waveform and an impulse-shaped waveform (impulse portion). In an example transmission signal, a front slope portion, a flat portion, and a rear slope portion exist in a positive polarity side. The impulse portion has a shape which protrudes from an offset level over a base line into an opposite polarity side. Because the center frequency of the trapezoidal wave form is near the DC component, the trapezoidal wave form can substantially be ignored. The impulse portion has a large amplitude, but because the impulse portion exists over both polarities, there is no need to apply a special high voltage countermeasure for each polarity in designing the transmission circuit. A trapezoidal wave form of an opposite polarity may be added in front of the trapezoidal waveform.
