  • Patent number: 8995602
Abstract: A jet pump beam (hereinafter, referred to as a beam) is fitted into a pair of projecting portions installed to a transition piece, and after the beam is arched, a beam bolt engaged with the beam is tightened. An end of the beam bolt comes in contact with a top surface of an insert member fitted into an elbow disposed between the pair of projecting portions. An ultrasonic sensor head is fixed to the beam bolt, and ultrasonic waves are sent to the beam bolt from the ultrasonic sensor in the ultrasonic sensor head. An ultrasonic measuring apparatus obtains echo intensity of each of reflected waves generated at the end of the beam bolt and a bottom surface of the insert member, and based on the echo intensities, an echo intensity ratio R is calculated. • Patent number: 8992665
Abstract: Provided is a valuable-metal recovery method for recovering metals from lithium ion batteries using comparatively simple equipment and without using a cumbersome process. In said method, a positive electrode material from lithium ion batteries, containing lithium and a transition metal, is dissolved in an acidic solution, thereby generating lithium ions and ions of the transition metal in the acidic solution. Said acidic solution and a recovery liquid are then made to flow with an anion-permeable membrane interposed therebetween, causing the lithium ions to permeate from the acidic solution to recovery solution. Lithium ions are then recovered from the recovery liquid containing dissolved lithium ions.

  • Patent number: 8996908
Abstract: A first SS (storage system) provides a first SA (storage area), a second SS provides a second SA, and first and second HSs (host systems) are coupled to the first and second SSs. First and second paths connect the first HS to the first and second SAs. Third and fourth paths connect the second HS to the first and second SAs. When the first path has a higher priority than the second path after recovery where a WR (write request) is permitted to be transmitted to the first SS, if the first SA which is a write destination for the received WR is a target in a data mirroring process, the first SS transmits a notification to stop the process. The second SS performs control such that a WR specifying the second SA as a write destination fails, and then the second HS transmits the WR using the third path.

  • Patent number: 8994322
Abstract: Since in existent charge-discharge control the battery direct current resistance of a lithium ion battery increases at a low temperature or in a low SOC, the battery voltage may possibly exceed greatly the maximum allowable voltage instantaneously due to over-voltage during charging or may possibly decrease greatly to less than the minimum allowable voltage during discharging. If the lithium ion battery continuously lies in such a state the battery performance is degraded abruptly. The battery resistance of a lithium ion battery module is estimated in accordance with SOC and temperature of the lithium ion battery module, and current to charge is set properly based on the estimated battery resistance.
