  • Patent number: 8589651
Abstract: Each time data is migrated, a management system stores information denoting a migration history related to the migration of the data, in history management information. The management system receives an input of an administrator-desired attribute condition combination for a migration-destination storage device, identifies all device attribute combinations conforming to this attribute condition combination, and calculates multiple migration trends based on each device attribute combination and the history management information. The management system identifies, from among the multiple migration trends, a migration trend to which a specified migration-source storage device belongs, and displays information denoting at least this identified migration trend.

  • Patent number: 8585216
Abstract: An object of the invention is to reduce the size and weight of a video projector by shortening the length of the arm of a mirror rotator and reducing the size of a mirror. A video projector comprises a plurality of projection lenses through which image light rays from a liquid crystal panel are extracted in a magnified manner; a reflective mirror for reflecting the extracted image light rays onto a screen; and a mirror rotator for rotating the reflective mirror so that the extracted image light rays can be reflected in particular directions. Among the projection lenses, some of the projection lenses located farther away from the liquid crystal penal are partially cut such that areas through which the image light rays do not pass are cut off to create a lens cut-off space. The mirror rotator is placed in the lens cut-off space.

  • Patent number: 8584818
Abstract: A piston connected to a piston rod is fitted in a cylinder having a hydraulic oil sealed therein. Flows of hydraulic oil induced by sliding movement of the piston are controlled by extension and compression damping force generating mechanisms and to generate damping force. In the extension damping force generating mechanism, the valve-opening pressure of a disk valve is controlled by the pressure in a back pressure chamber. An elastic seal member fixed to the disk valve is brought into sliding contact with an inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical portion of a valve member to seal the back pressure chamber. The disk valve is self-aligned by fitting between the elastic seal member and the inner peripheral surface of the valve member and secured by being axially clamped at an inner peripheral portion thereof in a state where a clearance is formed between the inner peripheral portion of the disk valve and a shaft portion of the piston rod, thereby reducing the requirements for coaxiality.

  • Patent number: 8587777
Abstract: A change in surface state can be dealt with by setting threshold values different for respective regions of an object to be examined in accordance with a magnitude of noises, thereby improving a detection sensitivity. A function for setting an examination threshold value every region is installed. A function for setting examination threshold values every plurality of detectors spatially independent of each other is installed. The magnitude of noises from the object to be examined differs depending on a spatial direction even in the same region. Therefore, the detection sensitivity is maximized by maximizing an S/N ratio of a detection signal by an optimum signal arithmetic operating process according to the magnitude of noises from the object to be examined every detector and every region of the object to be examined and by setting the optimum threshold values.

  • Patent number: 8589038
Abstract: A hydraulic drive system for a working machine provides improved safety during forced regeneration. Upon input of a forced regeneration command signal from a forced regeneration switch, a controller detects non-operated states of all hydraulic actuators such as an arm cylinder arranged on a hydraulic excavator based on a lock detection signal from a gate lock detection switch, and also an attitude of a front working mechanism. The attitude is proper from the standpoint of safety. The detection is based on an arm angle signal from an arm angle sensor, a bucket angle signal from a bucket angle sensor and a boom pressure signal from a boom pressure sensor. Taking the detection of the non-operated states and proper attitude as conditions, the controller outputs control signals to a boosting proportional solenoid valve and flow-rate controlling, proportional solenoid valve to make a forced regenerator conduct forced regeneration.

Abstract: There is disclosed a data storage system used in a computer environment where there are plural host computers and plural storage array controllers. When a remote copy is made while assuring the order of writing across plural storage array controllers, one of the host computers gains copy information about all the storage array controllers associated with the remote copy as a representative. The representative one of the storage array controllers collects and stores copy statuses which are individually managed by the storage array controllers for which a remote copy is made. The host computer gains the copy statuses from the representative controller using an instruction to gain the copy statuses.
