Patent number: 8563958Abstract: Reflected light caused by the state of the surface of a wafer, a foreign material, or a defect is superimposed on a haze frequency component caused by the type and thickness of a film or a surface irregularity. In order to detect a haze frequency component caused by a haze present on the surface of an object to be inspected, light propagating from the object to be inspected is detected and converted into an electric signal. The electric signal is sampled at a predetermined sampling time interval and converted into digital data. A frequency component caused by a foreign material, a defect or the like is separated from the digital data to ensure that a haze frequency component is selected. The haze frequency component is caused by a stain attached to the surface of the wafer, hazy tarnish, a surface irregularity or the like.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2011Date of Patent: October 22, 2013Assignee: Hitachi High-Technologies CorporationInventors: Kazuo Takahashi, Takahiro Jingu

Patent number: 8562080Abstract: A brake system provided with a brake booster using intake negative pressure of an engine for boosting a brake operating force for a vehicle. A requested braking force is detected base on an operating amount of a brake pedal, and when the requested braking force is less than a threshold value, a master cylinder pressure prevailing in the master cylinder using an operating force boosted by the brake booster is supplied to the wheel cylinder. On the other hand, when the requested braking force is greater than or equal to the threshold value, brake fluid pressure having been boosted by a pump is supplied to the wheel cylinder. The threshold value is set to a value that becomes greater the larger the negative pressure inside the brake booster.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2009Date of Patent: October 22, 2013Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Hideki Sekiguchi, Toshiya Oosawa, Satoru Watanabe, Tomoyuki Murakami, Akihiro Sato, Motohiro Higuma

Patent number: 8566550Abstract: For storage management in a tiered storage environment in a system having one or more applications running on a host computer which is connected to a storage system, the storage system comprises storage volumes in a pool which are divided into a plurality of tiers having different tier levels, the tiers being organized according to a tier configuration rule; and a controller. The controller allocates the pool to a plurality of virtual volumes based on a change of the tier levels against the physical storage devices. The controller stores a relation between data in the storage system being accessed by each application running on the host computer and an application ID of the application accessing the data. The tier level of a portion of a storage volume of the plurality of storage volumes is changed based at least in part on the application accessing data in the storage volume.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2009Date of Patent: October 22, 2013Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tomohiro Kawaguchi, Toshio Otani, Atsushi Murase
