Patent number: 10144101Abstract: A headstock assembly for a machine tool includes a mount having a female threaded bore, a headstock mounted slidably relative to the machine base, a drive member mounted on the headstock, a spindle, and a spindle extension. The spindle has an intermediate segment disposed in a chamber of the headstock and coupled to be driven by the drive member so as to permit the spindle to rotate about a spindle axis. The spindle extension is coupled to be rotatable with the spindle, and has a male threaded segment configured to be in threaded engagement with the female threaded bore so as to permit the headstock to be linearly moved relative to the mount.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2017Date of Patent: December 4, 2018Assignee: HIWIN TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATIONInventors: Chien-Hsiang Tsai, Chih-Wei Wang, Chien-Hung Lai, Chung-Sheng Hsu

Patent number: 8813596Abstract: A ball screw with a circulating assembly is disclosed. The circulating assembly of the ball screw is divided into a first circulating block and a second circulating block and can be assembled on the ball screw in such a method that the first and the second circulating blocks are assembled separately, so that the circulating assembly is applicable to the screw shaft whose helical groove doesn't extend to the shoulder portion thereof. In addition, the circulating assembly is limited in terms of an angle, and the relation between the first circulating block and the second circulating block is especially limited, so that the ball screw is applicable to the nuts with smaller outer diameter. Hence, the ball screw can be applied to both the nuts with smaller diameter and the screw shafts whose helical groove doesn't extend to the shoulder portion thereof.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2011Date of Patent: August 26, 2014Assignee: Hiwin Technologies CorporationInventors: Sin-He Chen, Dian-Yu Jhan

Patent number: 6817260Abstract: The cooling means for the present invention is formed in the screw nut instead of forming in the screw bolt. A cavity is formed between an outer cover and the screw nut as a pathway for cooling agent so as to deprive the screw nut of generated heat therein. To assure a better cooling effect, portion of the screw nut adjacent to the outer cover is pared partially to enlarge the space of the cavity therebetween. Furthermore, a guiding tube spirally encircling the screw nut, or reciprocating in the longitudinal direction of the ball screw axis on the screw nut, is provided for guiding the cooling agent therein so as to prevent leaking of cooling agent.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2001Date of Patent: November 16, 2004Assignee: Hiwin Technologies CorporationInventor: Chi-Meng Liao

Patent number: 6220110Abstract: Disclosed herein is a leadscrew ball recirculation block with oil storing means wherein an cavity in the ball recirculation block which being not effectively used for circulating balls is utilized for storing lubrication oil. An oil exuding hole is provided to communicate with the oil stored cavity and a turning passage for balls so as to lubricate the moving balls. In order to prevent the lubrication oil remained at a standstill in a certain region in the cavity by its own gravity from failing to lubricate the balls, there is provided an oil containing element with a plurality of oil absorbing and distribution branches to lubricate the balls just passing by the turning passage. Furthermore, the ball recirculation block is formed of two pieces of plastic members bonded by supersonic wave bonding technique so as to achieve reduction of manufacturing cost and ensure perfect oil sealing effect of the ball recirculation block.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1999Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Assignee: Hiwin Technologies CorporationInventors: Paul Yang, Chang-Hsin Kuo

Patent number: 5669716Abstract: A new ball circulating system for a linear ball bearing that greatly simplifies the manufacturing process of the ball bearing. The linear ball bearing includes an outer sleeve, a ball retainer, several ball tracks and two snap rings. Each ball track includes a linear loaded ball groove and a linear unloaded ball groove, and two semi-circular ball turning grooves which allow the steel balls to turn 180 degrees between the two linear ball grooves. The turning grooves include two-stage depth variations to simplify the geometry of the inner surface of the outer sleeve, to provide better manufacturability, and to increase the bearing's overall strength and longevity.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1996Date of Patent: September 23, 1997Assignee: Hiwin Technologies CorporationInventor: Chao Song Chang
