  • Patent number: 12345404
Abstract: A lighting system includes a housing having a light exit aperture at a distal end; a first light source configured to emit visible light; a second light source configured to emit ultraviolet light; a controller operatively coupled to the second light source; and at least one sensor operatively coupled to the controller. The second light source is disposed in the housing between the first light source and the light exit aperture, and allows at least some of the visible light emitted by the first light source to pass therethrough. In some embodiments, the controller receives one or more signals from the at least one sensor indicating detection of occupancy of the area, and in response illuminates the second light source.
