Patents Assigned to HMS Mfg. Co.
  • Patent number: 11142396
Abstract: A container includes a base and a wall disposed about and attached to the base. The wall defines a rim spaced from the base, as well as a compartment extending between the base and the wall. A lid having an inner surface and an outer surface is coupled to the wall for covering the compartment. The container has a diverter bar for separating the compartment into at least two sections in a first position. The diverter bar has a body that extends between body ends, with the body releasably engaging the wall in the first position. A retainer attaches to the lid for receiving the diverter bar and securing the diverter bar to the lid to define a storage position. A lip extends outwardly from the body whereby the lip engages the retainer in response to the diverter bar being in the storage position.

  • Patent number: 11059625
Abstract: A container for holding and transporting goods is provided. The container includes a base and a plurality of walls connected to and extending upwardly from the base to a brim to define an opening for receiving the goods. A pair of lock-lugs extend from the brim. The container also includes a handle defining a pair of lock-keys for receiving the lock-lugs and pivotally connecting the handle to the brim for pivoting between a storage position and a raised position. The lock-keys interact with the lock-lugs to establish a locked condition of the handle when the handle is in the raised position and pulled upwardly away from the base for allowing a user to pull the container across the floor with the handle and an unlocked condition where the handle is pushed downwardly when in the raised position to allow the handle to be rotated to the storage position.

  • Patent number: 9481960
Abstract: The container (20) comprises a base (22), a concave wall (24), a convex wall (26), and a pair of side walls (28) with all walls (24, 26, 28) extending upwardly from the base (22) to a rim (30) which presents an engaging area (50) having an apex (52) and midpoint (54). The apex (52) of the engaging area (50) is disposed a greater distance from the base (22) than the distance of the top (38) of the rim (30) from the base (22) along the side walls (28) and the convex wall (26), whereby the engaging area (50) presents a concave surface area for supporting the container (20) on the hip of a human body. The engaging area (50) further includes a second dimension (h2) which decreases in height along the rim (30) from the apex (52) and the midpoint (54) of the engaging area (50) toward each side wall (28). The engaging area (50) further includes a support plane (?3) which slants relative to vertical at an acute angle (?) allowing the engaging area (50) to rest comfortably on the human body.

  • Patent number: 9079596
Abstract: A cart and drawer assembly (20, 120) comprising a pair of panels (22) each having an inner surface (26) disposed in spaced and parallel relationship with one another with said inner surfaces (26) facing each other. Each of the panels (22) defines a pair of beams (32). At least one shelf (66, 166) is disposed between the panels (22) in perpendicular relationship to the panels (22). A plurality of ribs (122) extend from the beams (32) and are spaced from one another along the beams (32). A pair of ears (124, 224) extend from each of the shelves (66, 166) and engage an adjacent pair of the ribs (122) to maintain the panels (22) in spaced and parallel relationship with one another and perpendicular to the shelf (66, 166). Each of the beams (32) define a plurality of sockets (34) spaced from one another. A pair of plugs (76) extend from each of the mounting sides (67, 167) in one of the sockets (34) connecting the shelves (66, 166) to the panels (22). The ears (124, 224) are disposed between said plugs (76).

  • Publication number: 20140217247
Abstract: A bag support assembly comprising a frame (20) that includes a pair of beams (22) and a plurality of tubes (38) that extend perpendicularly between the beams (22). Two pairs of vertical rails (50) are supported by disposition in the beams (22). A plurality of bags (62) present an opening (64) for being supported on the frame (20). A plurality of hoops (66) are each disposed about the openings (64). A connector bar (68) having a first side (70) and a second side (72) presents substantially parallel legs (74) for support by the frame (20). At least one hook (76) is attached to the first side (70) of the connector bar (68) and extends in the opposite direction from the legs (74) for positioning the hoops (66) to rest upon the connector bar (68) and to extend from the second side (72) of the connector bar (68) and over the connector bar (68) in the direction of the legs (74) to support the bags (62) in a cantilevered fashion while retained by the hook (76).

  • Patent number: 6905036
Abstract: The shelf 16 is placed in the storage or shipping position shown in FIG. 2 with the projections 58 disposed in the grooves behind the flanges 34 and engaging the bottoms 60 of the embossments. A wrapper 18 may be placed around the components 12 and 16 for shipping and display in a retail store. The user would remove the shelf 16 from the stored position and slide the tongues 38 into the grooves (as shown in FIG. 4) until the covers 36 engage the tops 30 for supporting the shelf 16 in the cantilevered position (as shown in FIG. 5).

Abstract: The shelf 16 is placed in the storage or shipping position shown in FIG. 2 with the projections 58 disposed in the grooves behind the flanges 34 and engaging the bottoms 60 of the embossments. To prevent the shelf 16 from swinging outwardly, the tabs 64 overlap and are retained behind the fingers 68. 5).
