  • Patent number: 5202076
Abstract: A rotating mold is fed with a flowable mixture of an inorganic filler material powder and a polyester resin for the purpose of generating or building up individual layers. By selecting the rotating speed during the layer buildup a more or less pronounced separation between resin and filler material is produced inside the layer, the value of the separation being selected in accordance with the specific application the component produced is intended to be used for. Subsequently the layer is fed cut glass fibers made to penetrate at least into the innermost resin-enriched region of the generated layer. Owing to this rotational-speed-controlled distribution of filler material and resin inside the layers, larger values of mechanical strength may be obtained with reduced glass requirements. Any "strain-corrosion" may be avoided by using filler materials containing carbonate.

  • Patent number: 5054824
Abstract: To produce an integrated coupling on pipes manufactured according to the centrifugal casting process, insert rings made of soft PVC are placed into the end parts of the pipe shell mode. In the recess (5a) of one end part (4a), a coupling sleeve (7) is produced by wrapping on a laminate. A recess (5b) provided with an additional annular groove (5c) is produced by the insert ring in the other pipe end part (4b). A prestressed sealing ring (8) is placed into the groove (5c). Projecting beads (8a, 8b) of the sealing ring (8) are compressed by the coupling sleeve (7) on coupling the pipes. The material of the sealing ring (8) that is now being displaced finds space in annular flutes (8d) provided on the inner side of the sealing ring. This integrated coupling is suitable for nonpressurized pipelines and especially for pipes intended for lining reinforced concrete or concrete pipes.

  • Patent number: 4642156
Abstract: Glass roving is directed through a soaking tub which is supplied with resin and a setting agent, and trained as a flat-pressed band to a forming unit. The forming unit comprises a two-part mold which is formed by the flange portions of two mold discs and becomes automatically coupled in its closing position. The mold discs are supported on separate coaxial shafts, each of which is associated with a drive for opening and closing the mold. One of the mold parts comprises a cylindrical portion by which, upon opening the mold, the finished sleeve is supported. Pusher pistons provided at this mold part becomes effective automatically as the mold is opened to push off the molded sleeve. All working, drive and conveying means, as well as all switching and control elements are under the control of a common programmable central unit.
