Patent number: 7331767Abstract: For stepless capacity control of a reciprocating piston compressor, an unloader (2) arranged on a suction valve (1) keeps open said suction valve (1) over a thereby controllable portion of the working cycle of the compressor by means of an unloading piston (4) biased by gas pressure via a control valve (3). The gas pressure biasing the unloading piston (4) is always above the gas pressure required to overcome the maximum possible reverse flow force, whereby a controllable partial discharge of the unloading cylinder (6) is performed in each phase of the working cycle up to the closing of the suction valve (1) by means of the control valve (3), which is designed to switch rapidly. The theoretical discharge time of the entire discharging volume for the partial discharge is preferably maximal nearly equal or even less than twice the duration of the working cycle.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2003Date of Patent: February 19, 2008Assignee: Hoerbiger Kompressortechnik Services GmbHInventors: Bernhard Spiegl, Peter Steinrück, Gunther Machu, Michael Miks

Patent number: 7011111Abstract: In sealing elements (3, 3?, 3?) for automatic compressor valves, composed of synthetic material (12) having embedded fiber reinforcement (11), the fiber reinforcement (11) and/or the surrounding synthetic material (12) in the finished sealing element (3, 3?, 3?) has an inhomogeneous distribution and/or locally different material characteristics under consideration of different local requirements.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2002Date of Patent: March 14, 2006Assignee: Hoerbiger Kompressortechnik Services GmbHInventors: Bernhard Spiegl, Dietmar Artner

Patent number: 7007563Abstract: A stationary arranged sensor (4) is provided in the region of one of the dead centers of the piston movement to monitor the position of the path of motion of a piston (1) relative to a cylinder (2) whereby the sensor (4) measures the lateral distance (a) to an indicator unit (6) arranged on the piston (1). The sensor (4) is arranged in a recessed position relative to the inner surface of the cylinder (2) and is sealed toward the cylinder chamber (9) by means of a cover (8), and the indicator unit (6) on the piston (1) is designed as an anomaly (10) that is non-sensitive to contaminating deposits in the area of the face (11) of the piston (1).Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2003Date of Patent: March 7, 2006Assignee: Hoerbiger Kompressortechnik Services GmbHInventors: Bernhard Spiegl, Peter Steinrück, Jürgen Murhammer

Patent number: 6681804Abstract: A device for controlling the output of rotary compressors which includes a housing (8) formed of two housing parts which define connection flanges (1, 3) at opposite ends thereof and which define a dividing plane (13) therebetween that is slanted toward the plane of the connection flanges (1, 3) on both sides between a regulating flap valve (4), which controllably changes the passage cross-section of the suction duct, and a check valve (7) that is arranged behind the flap check valve in the direction of flow. The housing (8) may be assembled in different relative positions of the two housing parts (14, 15), which makes manufacturing simpler and more cost-effective and makes possible different relative positions of the two connection flanges (1, 3) to one another.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2002Date of Patent: January 27, 2004Assignee: Hoerbiger Kompressortechnik Services GmbHInventor: Josef M. Horvath

Patent number: 6581632Abstract: In a poppet valve the guide attachment (2) of each sealing member (1) together with the spring (5) is arranged and supported in a cup-like suspension member (8) inserted in a continuous receiving bore (15) in the catcher plate (3) and is guided with its external periphery at least in part directly on the internal periphery of the suspension member (8), as a result of which the guide length of the sealing member (1) and thus the length of stroke thereof becomes independent of the thickness of the catcher plate (3). As a result, the production, assembly and storage are simplified and new fields of application for valves of this type are opened up.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2001Date of Patent: June 24, 2003Assignee: Hoerbiger Kompressortechnik Services GmbHInventors: Jim Walpole, Greg Reback

Patent number: 6539974Abstract: The valve includes a valve seat (1) having passage channels (2) for the controlled medium which are arranged essentially in a ring-shape and concentrically, of a catcher (3) having flow-off channels (4), a valve plate (5) that is movably arranged, in particular it is movable back and forth, between the catcher (3) and the valve seat (1), having several individual ring plates (7) that are allocated to the passage channels of the valve seat (1), and a support plate (8) that is spring-loaded by the catcher (3) and rests on the ring plates (7).Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2001Date of Patent: April 1, 2003Assignee: Hoerbiger Kompressortechnik Services GmbHInventors: Peter Steinrück, Dietmar Artner

Patent number: 6454238Abstract: A valve for bringing gaseous fuel into the combustion chamber (1) of gas engines includes a solenoid valve (5) controlling the fuel supply (2) and an adjoining check valve (7) designed as a poppet valve, which is closed by the force of a spring and which opens in the direction of the combustion chamber through the pressure of gas flowing from the opened solenoid valve (5).Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2001Date of Patent: September 24, 2002Assignee: Hoerbiger Kompressortechnik Services GmbHInventor: Peter Steinruck
