  • Publication number: 20090293436
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and device for producing a content filling bottle including a bottom part that is inverted between a concave shape and a convex shape to prevent a body part from being subjected to reduced pressure deformation, the method and device being capable of efficiently producing a sanitary and high-quality content filling bottle. Contents are filled into an empty bottle 1 with an inversion part 11 projecting outwardly from the body part. A cap 6 is fitted onto an opening of the bottle 1 to seal the bottle 1. An auxiliary tool 27 is then installed on the bottom part 5 of the bottle 1. Then, the bottom part of the bottle 1 with the auxiliary tool 27 installed thereon is supported via the auxiliary tool 27. The downwardly projecting inversion part 11 is pressed up so as to be inverted and recessed inwardly into the bottle 1. Subsequently, with the opening of the bottle 1 gripped, the auxiliary tool 27 is separated from the bottle 1.

  • Patent number: 7188499
Abstract: A pressing member 44 is pressed from the outside against a peripheral wall of a can shell 4 whose interior is maintained at a predetermined pressure by gas, to form a recess-deformed portion 56 having a predetermined shape on the peripheral wall of the can shell 4. Thereby, three-dimensional patterns can be formed by recess-deforming desired portions of the can shell 4 while preventing the strength of the can shell 4 from being deteriorated and preventing the inner surface of the can shell 4 from being scratched or the coating from being damaged, by which outer shape processing with high design performance can be easily applied to the can shell 4 at a low cost.

  • Patent number: 5409129
Abstract: A tinned steel sheet having a tin deposit obtained by evenly plating tin on the surface of a base steel sheet at a deposition rate of 0.5-1.7 g/m.sup.2 is used as a surface-treated steel sheet for forming a can body. A biaxially oriented polyester film having a thickness of 5-50 .mu.m is caused to adhere to the surface-treated steel sheet with a thermosetting resin adhesive at a temperature of 180.degree.-225.degree. C. as a protective coat. The tinned steel sheet has, on its both ends, two layers of a tin-iron alloy layer having a deposition rate of 0.35-1.60 g/m.sup.2 in terms of tin content and a tin layer having a tin deposition rate of 0.10-1.35 g/m.sup.2 at a stage after the adhesion of the polyester film but before welding. Said both ends of the surface-treated steel sheet are welded to each other, and another protective coat is applied to a portion of the inner surface, which is not covered with the first-mentioned protective coat, thereby forming a welded can.

  • Patent number: 5394986
Abstract: A can end tray for storing a plurality of arrays of can ends while the can ends are being conveyed has a substantially rectangular upstanding side wall having a height at least equal to the diameter of the can ends, and a plurality of can end supports on a bottom of said side wall for supporting arrays of can ends thereon, said can end supports having a plurality of partitions for holding the arrays of can ends spaced from each other when the arrays of can ends are placed on said can end supports. A plurality of spacers are disposed on said side wall in longitudinal alignment with said can end supports for spacing said side wall and ends of the arrays of can ends from each other when the arrays of can ends are placed on said can end supports. When the arrays of can ends are placed on said can end supports, the spacers extend across the can ends on the ends of the arrays of can ends defining gaps between said side wall and the can ends on the ends of the arrays of can ends.

  • Patent number: 5186593
Abstract: A method of feeding work products such as can ends between different processes having different throughput requirements uses various feeding apparatus. In the first process, the work products are continuously mechanically treated at the same time by a group of first machines and then continuously discharged to a second process. This second process receives the work products fed from the plural discharging parts of the first machines. The apparatus in the second process has fewer receiving inlets than discharge parts of the first machines. In the second process, the work products are further mechanically treated. The method feeds the work products discharged from the plural discharging parts in the first process along respective feeding paths and then quickly feeds a predetermined number of work products to form a group of work products. This group is held in an arranged state in respective stay parts connected to the feeding paths.

  • Patent number: 5149239
Abstract: A can end double-seaming machine has a housing in which a shaft is rotatably supported. The shaft with a seaming cam lever mounted is pressed downwardly by a presser against the bias of a spring until the lower surface of the seaming cam lever is held against the upper surface of the housing. Then, an annular spacer is fitted over the lower end portion of the shaft underneath, with the tubular support held against a neck of the shaft. A seaming roll lever is then mounted on the lower end portion of the shaft. The presser is deactivated to release the shaft, which is lifted together with the seaming cam lever, the annular spacer, and the seaming roll lever under the bias of the spring until the marginal portion of the annular spacer abuts against the lower surface of the housing. The tubular support enters the housing by a distance corresponding to a predetermined clearance. The seaming cam lever and the housing are now spaced from each other by the predetermined clearance.

  • Patent number: 5139382
Abstract: A can end double-seaming machine has a seaming head vertically movably mounted on a base and supporting a seaming chuck and a seaming roll. The seaming head is guided for its vertical movement by support posts on the base. Rotors are rotatably threaded on the support posts and rotatable by a motor for lifting and lowering the seaming head. A controller controls the motor to elevate the seaming head upwardly of a predetermined seaming position, then lower the seaming head downwardly of the seaming position, and thereafter elevate the seaming head to the seaming position, thereby positioning the seaming head in the seaming position. Since the seaming head is lowered downwardly of the seaming position and then lifted back to the seaming position, the seaming head is reliably and accurately be brought into the seaming position without a positional error which would otherwise be caused by the backlash between the rotors and the support posts.

  • Patent number: 5125208
Abstract: A can end is seamed to a cylindrical can filled with contents. The can is fed along a substantially elliptical path including straight and arcuate paths. While the can is being fed along the straight path, the can end is seamed to the can by a linear seaming device. At the same time, the can end is rotated by a can end holder which has a pinion gear held in mesh with a rack which extends fully along the elliptical path. The rack is composed of separate rack members which are relatively movable to adjust the tension of an endless chain that moves can ends and cans along the elliptical path.
