Abstract: A device for cleaning cylindrical objects such as bolts has a sleeve (1) which contains a rotor (2) equipped with a brush (7). A bolt is inserted into the sleeve (1), and the rotor (2) is rotated by a motor (4) to clean the periphery of the bolt. The sleeve (1) is connected to a suction means of negative pressure such as blower (11), and the motor (4) is capable of rotating the rotor (2) in one or the other direction. In the cleaning device a bolt is enclosed in the sleeve (1) and is cleaned with the brush (7) which is driven in contact with the peripheral surface of the bolt by the rotation of the rotor (2). Dust and dirt generated by the cleaning are prevented from leaking out of the sleeve and collected in the suction means of negative pressure. As the rotor (2) rotates in one or the other direction by the motor (4), furthermore, the rotating direction of the brush (7) is set to meet the direction in which the lead of the thread of the bolt advances.

Abstract: A support device for checking and repairing a heavy rotatable object such as a large turbine rotor comprises a pair of self-aligning support structures for rotatably supporting both ends of the shaft of the heavy rotatable object. In each self-aligning support structure, a roller support base rotatably supporting the corresponding end of the shaft of the object with a pair of support rollers is mounted on a base frame by means of a hemispherical support mechanism, and moreover a jig for adjusting the horizontal rotating position of the roller support base around the vertical axis of the hemispherical support mechanism is disposed in the periphery of the base frame, so that the occurrence of the thrust force on the heavy rotatable object as well as the support rollers is completely eliminated.

Abstract: A support structure utilized for checking and repairing rotatable objects of various kinds, such as a turbine for power generator or a blower fan, includes a roll support base which rotatably supports one end of the rotatable object thereon by means of a pair of rolls which are supported on an adjustable surface plate of a base frame by means of a spherical support mechanism. Due to the spherical support mechanism, the rolls on the support bases can uniformly support both ends of the rotatable object without imparting any thrust to the rolls even when horizontal levelling is not achieved.
