Patent number: 7779886Abstract: A Venetian blind and a control mechanism therefore, comprising a plurality of slats suspended from a headrail by lift cords, the control mechanism comprising a hollow rod articulated to the headrail and accommodating the lift cords extending to a elevation assembly manipulable by an actuator slidingly received over the rod. Upward displacing of the actuator entails lowering of the slats and downwards displacing of the actuator entails raising of the slats, and a friction mechanism for arresting the slats at any respective elevation.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2007Date of Patent: August 24, 2010Assignee: Holis Metal Industries Ltd.Inventor: Yacov Ganzi

Publication number: 20090308544Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided a spacing arrangement for a vertical blind system comprising a plurality of vertical slats. The spacing arrangement comprises a first strand and a second strand arranged in a bellows type configuration. Each strand is composed of a plurality of elongate spacers, each spacer having a lead end, a tail end, and a mid-point. The strands are arranged such that a lead end of one spacer is pivotally articulated to the tail end of an adjacent spacer. The first strand and the second strand are pivotally articulated to one another at a mid-point of each two intersecting spacers. At least one of the spacers is formed at its mid-point with an attachment port for receiving a vertical slat or a blind accessory formed with an attachment port for receiving the vertical slat.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2008Publication date: December 17, 2009Applicant: Holis Metal Industries Ltd.Inventor: Yacov Ganzi

Publication number: 20080023157Abstract: A blind and tilt mechanism therefore, adapted to be secured within a cut-out in a headrail, the tilt mechanism comprising a casing, adapted to accommodate a cog-wheel rotatable about a first axis. The casing comprising two counter-positioned tilter hook-receiving channels, each leading to the cog-wheel sized and shaped for receiving at least a portion of a rotatable tilter hook adapted to engage and rotate the cog-wheel. The tilter hook is designed for insertion into either one of the channels, thus being able to gain a left or right orientation.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2007Publication date: January 31, 2008Applicant: HOLIS METAL INDUSTRIES LTD.Inventor: Moshe Ganzi

Patent number: 5816126Abstract: A cutter for shortening blinds of the type consisting of a top rail, a bottom rail and a plurality of suspended slats therebetween, the cutter comprising a framework, a stationary matrix fixed with respect to the framework and comprising a first opening for receiving the top rail of the blinds, at least one second opening for receiving the slats in a compacted position, and a third opening for receiving the bottom rail. The first and third openings have shapes corresponding with the cross-sectional shape of the respective top and bottom rails. A support member is slidable with respect to the matrix and comprises a first blade for cutting the top rail, at least one second blades for cutting the slats and a third blade for cutting the bottom rail, at least the first and third blades being flush with a surface of the matrix. The cutter further comprises a displacement mechanism for displacing the support member with respect to the matrix in a direction perpendicular to longitudinal axes of the openings.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1996Date of Patent: October 6, 1998Assignee: Holis Metal Industries, Ltd.
