Patents Assigned to Holstein and Kappert Aktiengesellschaft
  • Patent number: 5241996
Abstract: In an apparatus for filling liquid into containers subject to counter pressure, parts of the apparatus which could initiate turbulences are located out of the path of liquid flow. The displacement of the part out of the path of flow is significant in beverages containing fruit pulp and in other beverages. The apparatus includes springs providing weight compensation for a movable valve body and a gas valve. These springs are located above the liquid level in the vessel and bear against an abutment face on the valve body and on the gas valve.

  • Patent number: 5028174
Abstract: An apparatus for transporting plastic bottles which have a support collar near the opening. The bottles are suspended by the support collars on a guide track. Compressed air nozzle ducts are arranged on both sides of the bottles underneath the support collars. The air nozzle ducts have a nozzle surface in which at least one row of compressed air nozzles directed in the direction of movement of the bottles are arranged. At least one additional row of nozzles is provided whose effective direction of flow is obliquely and/or perpendicularly upwardly.

  • Patent number: 4989725
Abstract: A surface formed by grate bars in pasteurizers and the like. The grate bars are movable so as to perform a pilgrim step-like or reciprocating movement. The grate bars are placed on sectional girders. The ends of the grate bars placed on the sectional girders are Z-shaped. Each sectional girder has at its upper end face a groove-shaped recess and an elongated slot-like recess vertically spaced from the groove-shaped recess. The end of each grate bar has an opening for inserting the grate bar into the slot-like recess of the sectional girder. By inserting an end of a grate bar into the slot-like recess and raising the end of another opposite grate bar, the two facing grate bar ends are vertically and laterally centered.

  • Patent number: 4835940
Abstract: An apparatus for closing bottles by means of closure caps, such as, crown caps or the like, including a closing machine, a closing member rotating together with a bell-type centering or guard member along the periphery of the closing machine. A spring-biased pressure die is mounted in the closing member so as to be movable in axial direction. A cap transfer station is arranged at one point of the cycle of rotation of the closing machine. The position of the centering member with a cap support member is adjustable relative to the pressure die during the movement. The centering member and cap support member, when in the cap transfer position, are fixedly supported on the closing member by means of the pressure die and/or by means of control members of the centering member.

  • Patent number: 4102351
Abstract: A spraying device for use in a bottle cleaning machine is disclosed having a conveyor chain which is movable through the cleaning machine. A plurality of bottle receiving receptacles are supported from the chain and the bottles to be cleaned are carried in the receptacles. A plurality of spray tubes having a nozzle for directing the spray in a fixed direction with respect to the tube are mounted for pivotal movement so that the spray from each tube is directed through a predetermined spraying zone into a bottle as the conveyor chain moves through the cleaning machine and as the spray tubes are pivoted through a spraying zone. The spray tubes are aligned in series so that the spray from each tube is directed into one of the bottles and so that the axes of the sprays from the different tubes are parallel, and coupling means connect each of the spray tubes with each other so that they pivot through the zone together.

  • Patent number: 4082492
Abstract: In a molding process wherein a pair of mold halves pivoted on respective axes flanking a mold-closing plane are closed together scissor-fashion on an extrusion issuing continuously down in the vertical mold-closing plane, each of the mold halves is displaced during closing of the mold halves away from its respective pivot axis. Such displacement away from the axis is effected by means of a cam arrangement during the last stages of closing in order to insure that the mold cavities remain perfectly aligned with the extrusions being closed in them.

  • Patent number: 4062441
Abstract: In moving bottles to and from a cleaning machine, the bottles are transported over a stationary support surface by drivers formed on a plurality of juxtaposed rotating discs. Each disc has a pair of angularly spaced drivers and rotates about a common axle. During rotation of the disc, the axle moves transverse to its axial direction back and forth along a substantially straight path. For each complete back and forth movement of the axle, the disc rotates through one-half of a revolution so that one driver of each pair transports one or more bottles from a first station to a second station while the other driver of each pair returns from the second station to the first station.
