  • Patent number: 5540273
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and system for controlling a heating/air conditioning unit. In one embodiment of the present invention, the presence of multiple gases are detected and a separate indication for each gas is provided. An alternate embodiment of the present invention provides means for resetting the heating/air conditioning unit a selected number of times after the heating/air conditioning unit has been disabled due to the presence of a gas in undesired levels. An alternative embodiment of the present invention provides means for disabling the central heating/air conditioning unit based upon the activation of one or more smoke alarms.
