  • Patent number: 6880875
Abstract: A cargo protecting system for a pickup truck includes a metal support structure that is in a fixed position relative to a pickup truck. A bed floor is fixedly supported by the metal support structure, and the bed floor includes a first support surface for directly supporting cargo, wherein the first support surface is substantially coplanar with a plane. A first chamber is disposed substantially beneath the plane and can be defined by a first shell having first and second openings. The first chamber is accessible from above the plane through the first opening, and the first and second openings can be of sufficient size and dimension to allow the passage of a spare tire. Exemplary embodiments can include a second chamber disposed substantially directly beneath the bed floor and adjacent to the second opening, wherein the second chamber is separate from the first chamber and accessible from the first chamber through the second opening.

  • Patent number: 5484515
Abstract: This sensor, which is of the oxygen pump type, makes it possible to generate an electric signal representative of the oxygen content of a gas, linearly dependent on this oxygen content, made of a solid electrolyte plate (3), one of whose faces is partly covered by a cathode (1) impervious to oxygen to be brought into the presence of the said gas, and whose other face is covered by an anode (2) to be brought into the presence of a reference gas. Under the effect of the difference in potential prevailing between the two electrodes (1, 2), there appears at the surface of the solid electrolyte an area (I) in which the molecular oxygen contained in the said gas is transformed into negative ions. The electrons captured by the oxygen during this transformation produce the said electric signal.

  • Patent number: 5328725
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a method of coating an automobile body with a chipping-resisting paint, which comprises the steps of: applying and drying that portion of a top-painted automobile body, which is susceptible to the stone chipping, with a chipping-resisting paint containing, as a chief material, 10 to 20 parts of urethane lacquer and, as a solvent, 60 to 75 parts of isopropyl alcohol, 7 to 12 parts of toluene and 7 to 10 parts of ethyl acetate, to have a dry film thickness of at least 30 .mu.m; stripping the applied and dried coating film of the chipping-resisting paint after lapse of a predetermined period; and applying and drying the stripped portion again with the chipping-resisting paint. These steps are repeated.
