Abstract: Flight guidance methods, systems, and aircraft systems providing assist-to-land and emergency land (EL) functions. The method includes generating a visual indication of the availability and status of an assist-to-land function and an EL function when the current altitude of the aircraft exceeds an altitude threshold. When in assist-to-land, visual and audible flight guidance can be generated to guide the pilot to a safe landing at a selected runway or at a best runway for the conditions. Functions can be activated by user manipulations of interface objects and/or by software determinations. Software determinations to enter the EL function can automatically control the flying of the aircraft along an approach profile to a safe landing at a nearest suitable airport. EL determinations can be made based on pilot incapacitation.

  • Patent number: 12017094
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to respirator face masks, and specifically to powered face masks which may be custom-controllable to better provide for the specific air needs of the individual user wearing the mask. For example, the face mask embodiments typically include a filter and a motorized fan, both generally located on the face mask itself, along with a processor. The processor then may use inputs, for example specific to the user and/or the environment, to control the fan speed. Thus, the fan speed of the face mask may be custom controlled to provide the appropriate amount of filtered air as the specific user needs it.

  • Publication number: 20240204964
Abstract: A method comprises transmitting uplink messages from an AoIP ground datalink service provider to an AoIP gateway server, when an AoIP communication channel is available; determining whether the uplink messages have been received by the gateway server; storing the uplink messages in the gateway server; and notifying the datalink service provider when each uplink message is received by the gateway server. The method determines whether there are any uplink messages to be sent from the gateway server to a communications management system onboard an aircraft; sends any uplink messages, one at a time, from the gateway server to the communications management system; and transmits an acknowledgement from the communications management system to the gateway server. Each uplink message is sent from the communications management system to an onboard ACARS end system. Subsequent to each acknowledgement, a next uplink message is sent from the gateway server to the communications management system.
