Abstract: Flight guidance methods, systems, and aircraft systems providing assist-to-land and emergency land (EL) functions. The method includes generating a visual indication of the availability and status of an assist-to-land function and an EL function when the current altitude of the aircraft exceeds an altitude threshold. When in assist-to-land, visual and audible flight guidance can be generated to guide the pilot to a safe landing at a selected runway or at a best runway for the conditions. Functions can be activated by user manipulations of interface objects and/or by software determinations. Software determinations to enter the EL function can automatically control the flying of the aircraft along an approach profile to a safe landing at a nearest suitable airport. EL determinations can be made based on pilot incapacitation.

Abstract: Systems and methods for collecting and disseminating D-ATIS data to one or more entities are included. To collect D-ATIS information, one or more collection systems send requests to one or more ground stations. Each collection system can be located remotely from the ground station it requests D-ATIS information from. When a collection system receives D-ATIS information, it is configured to send the D-ATIS information to a central processing system. The central processing system is configured to manage a database that stores D-ATIS parameters determined from the D-ATIS information. In response to a request by a vehicle or other user to receive D-ATIS parameters for a ground station, the central processing system is configured to send the D-ATIS parameters to the vehicle or other user.

Abstract: A system and method for detecting ground resonance and providing a warning regarding the same includes supplying, from an inertial navigation system (INS), inertial data indicative of an inertial profile of a rotorcraft, and supplying, from a sensor system, sensor data that indicates when the rotorcraft is at least partially on a landing surface. The sensor data is processed, in a processing system, to determine when the rotorcraft is at least partially on the landing surface, and when the rotorcraft is determined to be at least partially on the landing surface, the inertial data is processed, in the processing system to determine when the inertial profile of the rotorcraft indicates ground resonance may occur. Upon determining that ground resonance may occur, one or more alert signals are generated in the processing system.

Abstract: A system configuration significantly reduces the number of interconnections needed between an electromechanical actuator (EMA) and an EMA controller (EMAC) while maintaining redundancy and other safety aspects needed by the target application. This allows simplification of communication interfaces between multiple sensors in the EMA and EMAC and unification of the interface to multiple sensors inside the EMAC, leading to cost and weight reduction that can be significant for many aerospace products and applications, including unmanned vehicle (e.g., UAM/UAV) applications.
