Abstract: A flow sensor apparatus that utilizes a pressure sensor with media isolated electrical connections. A cap can be attached to topside of the pressure sensor over a diaphragm to protect bond pads and wire bonds from a fluid media. A flow channel can be etched on the cap with an opening and exit on the sides of the cap so that liquid can flow through the flow channel. An inlet port and an outlet port can be attached to the channel's opening and exit to allow for fluid flow over the diaphragm. The flow channel creates a larger pressure over portions of the diaphragm that increases the deflection of the diaphragm, which increases an output signal of the pressure sensor. V-grooves can be created on two sides of the pressure sensor and in the cap to create the channel for the fluid in and out of the cap's cavity.

Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus for determining a corrective action for a diagnosable system are provided. A failure mode reasoning engine (FMRE) receives an evidence notification. The FMRE determines a plurality of evidentiary-failure-mode-probability rectangles (EFMPRs) based on the evidence notification. A candidate EFMPR in the plurality of EFMPRs is determined. The candidate EFMPR may be determined based on a distance from an origin of an evidentiary-failure-mode-probability graph. An overlap area is determined between the candidate EFMPR and the other EFMPRs in the plurality of EFMPRs. The overlap area is compared to an overlap threshold. If the overlap area is less than the overlap threshold, a reasoned failure mode (i.e., correct diagnosis) and/or a reasoned corrective action for the diagnosable system is determined, based on the candidate EFMPR. The FMRE may report and/or take the reasoned corrective action.
Abstract: A method includes wirelessly receiving a message at a receiving node. The method also includes extracting a partial counter value from the message, where the partial counter value represents a subset of bits from a complete counter value of a transmitting node. The method further includes decrypting and authenticating the message based on the partial counter value. Decrypting and authenticating the message could include examining a bitmap to identify a bit value associated with the partial counter value, decrypting and authenticating the message if the identified bit value has a first value, and discarding the message if the identified bit value has a second value. Decrypting and authenticating the message could also include identifying at least one complete counter value at the receiving node based on the partial counter value and attempting to decrypt and authenticate the message using the at least one complete counter value.

Abstract: An aircraft flight surface control system and method simultaneously provides the benefits of both an active/active system architecture and in active/standby system architecture. The system is preferably implemented using hydraulic actuator assemblies and electromechanical actuator assemblies coupled to the same flight control surface. During normal system operations the electromechanical actuator assemblies are energized to supply a relatively minimal force to associated flight control surfaces. In effect, the electromechanical actuators, although energized, may be pulled along by the associated hydraulic actuator assemblies, until needed. Thus, the electromechanical actuator assemblies are controlled in a manner that closely resembles the active/standby architecture.
