    Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods and techniques to integrate touch-sensing functionality with a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel. In a particular implementation, light sensing detectors are disposed on a backlight panel to detect changes in light incident on the backlight panel in response to a physical touching on a surface of an LCD panel. A location of the physical touching may then be estimated based upon signals received from the light sensing detectors.
