Patent number: 8905443Abstract: The invention relates to a lock assembly (10) of a planar component (22) displaceably mounted in frame (30). Said assembly (10) comprises an engaging element (40) which, in said planar component's closed position, can be fixed in place in a latching system (50). Said latching system is designed in a manner that, in its blocked position, the engaging element, for instance a bar affixable by compression and/or friction in the latching system (50), can be inserted into latter in a first direction (R) opposite the direction of closing (X) of the planar component (20), whereas such insertion is blocked in a second direction (S) which is opposite said planar component's direction of opening (O). This design allows almost noiselessly operating the lock assembly. The planar component also may be closed when the latching system is in the blocked position already when the planar component is open.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2009Date of Patent: December 9, 2014Assignee: Hoppe AGInventor: Helmut Alber

Patent number: 6923029Abstract: An operating device for doors, windows, etc. comprises a rosette (20) for holding a rotating handle (10) whose head (12) contains a lock cylinder (18) with an axially displaceable locking bolt (44) that is axially spring-loaded and automatically assumes an engaging position at a defined angle of rotation of the handle (10) by sliding over a stepped locking sleeve (30) of the rosette (20). The lock cylinder (18) has a core (40) with a radial opening (50) in a non-rotating wall (58) for controlled movement of a spindle (48) that radially extends from the locking bolt (44) which engages the locking sleeve in defined angular positions of the handle (10). The opening (50) extends over a peripheral angle of e.g. 180° to 220°, and is a contoured window having a lower flat segment (52), a depression (54) and a steeper segment (flank 56).Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2003Date of Patent: August 2, 2005Assignee: Hoppe AGInventor: Michael Waschgler

Patent number: 6601270Abstract: A handle (10) supported pivotably but axially tight on an installation body (20) has a polygonal bar (30) mounted for rotation within a handle neck (12) for actuating a closing mechanism. Two drivers (15, 35) movable relative to each other are engageable in a non-positive and/or a positive way between neighboring surfaces (17, 37) either directly or by means of coupling elements (36, 40, 42) so that a torque transmission from the handle (10) to the polygonal bar (30) is free but is blocked from the polygonal bar (30) to the handle (10) as at least one coupling element (36) is displaced in the direction of the attack. A main portion of a polygonal driver (35) may be concentrically enclosed by a two-shell handle driver (15) having wings (52) with front faces (19) which drive e.g. pairs of spring-loaded roller pins (36) held in a wedge-shaped confining zone (55). Corner areas of indentations (31) of the polygonal driver (35) serve to attack the roller pins (36).Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2001Date of Patent: August 5, 2003Assignee: Hoppe AGInventors: Martin Eckhardt, Reinhold Reitz, Helmut Alber, Frank Debus, Bernhard Schaub

Patent number: 5810502Abstract: For mounting the hollow ends (H) of a curved handle (G) in an orifice (B) on a contact face (A), a guide member (30) for a screw (29) has a base flange (31) which can be connected to expanding parts (39, 40, 60, 64) or a securing member (47) and on which there rests a tubular supporting member (12) which overlaps the hollow end (H). A cap nut (20) having a peripheral groove (24) for fixing the hollow end (H) through a setscrew V and wrench faces (33 and 23) like the head (32) can be screwed on to a head (32) of the guide member (30). A shank (37) of the guide member (30) with a conical end (39) or conical nut (64) directed against it can be pulled into an expanding nut (40) or an expanding tube (60) by means of the screw (29), enlarging an expanding basket (42, 62). A door handle (50) can be fixed, for example, on a multi-chamber profile (M), with the securing of a polygonal pin (47), the guide member (30) being secured externally by a flange ring (55).Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 1996Date of Patent: September 22, 1998Assignee: Hoppe AGInventors: Reinhold Reitz, Gunter Ochs

Patent number: 5782114Abstract: A multi-point locking system (10) has a lock case (11) with a door front edge (20), a latch (65), a blocking bolt (80) and two longitudinally movable push rods (30, 31) connected to one another by a connecting element (40) with locking elements such as eccentrically mounted roller pins (33) engaging in striking plates (34). The connecting element (40) has an engagement recess (46), is arrestable by a spring-loaded engaging element (52) against a compression spring (48) in a pretensioned opening position, and is releasable from this arrested position by direct operation of the locking elements (33) in the longitudinal direction of the door front edge. The striking plates (34) in the entry area (36) of the locking elements (33) have inclined stop surfaces (37) exerting a force (F) on the roller pins (33) in the closing direction (Y). The slidingly guided bolt (80) blocks the locking system (10) indirectly via a flexibly mounted rocker (91) using a closing element (81), for example a locking cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 1995Date of Patent: July 21, 1998Assignee: Hoppe AGInventors: Christian Zeus, Josef Mairvongrasspeinten

Patent number: 5752727Abstract: A drive type operating mechanism for locking gates, windows, double-wing doors and the like includes push rods which are movable longitudinally in opposite directions to effect locking of the upper and lower ends of the door with the surrounding framework. The mechanism is connected for actuation by a lever handle through an arrangement of follower elements that are slidable supported in a lock case. A nut sleeve follower which is rotatable by the lever handle has one claw which cooperates with a groove in one longitudinally movable follower, and a second claw which cooperates with a transversely slidable intermediate follower which in turn cooperates with a groove in the second longitudinal follower, this arrangement ensuring that upon rotation of the handle the followers (and hence the locking bolts) move in opposite directions. A lock mechanism ensures that the longitudinally movable followers are not inadvertently moved from their end limiting positions.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 1996Date of Patent: May 19, 1998Assignee: Hoppe AGInventors: Christian Zues, Heinz-Eckhard Engel
