  • Publication number: 20230383581
Abstract: An automatic shootbolt system or use with a door is provided. The automatic shootbolt system includes a strike and an automatic shootbolt assembly. The automatic shootbolt assembly includes a frame, a shootbolt slidably carried, an actuation lever slidably carried, and a shootbolt latch that acts between the shootbolt and the actuation lever. Actuation of the actuation lever from an extended state towards a retracted state transitions the shootbolt latch from an engaged position to a released position to release the shootbolt such that the shootbolt can transition from a retracted position to an extended position.

  • Patent number: 10760303
Abstract: A multi-point locking arrangement is provided. The multi-point locking arrangement includes a primary lock bolt and an auxiliary lock bolt offset from the primary lock bolt. The multi-point locking arrangement, in an embodiment, uses a single actuation motion to transition between locked and unlocked states. The locking arrangement may also include a lockout device that prevents transitioning from the unlocked state to the locked state when the lockout device is not actuated. The locking arrangement may include a biased auxiliary strike plate that cooperate with the auxiliary lock bolt to provide improved alignment and a tighter seal.

  • Publication number: 20200115922
Abstract: A lock assembly including a lock mechanism, a guide, a strike plate and an alignment track. The lock mechanism includes a lock bolt transitionable between an unlocked orientation and a locked orientation. The guide is carried by the lock bolt and travels along a path that is both parallel and perpendicular to the strike plate as the lock bolt transitions between the unlocked orientation and locked orientation. The strike plate includes a strike plate opening through which the lock bolt passes when transitioning from the unlocked orientation to the locked orientation. The alignment track engages the guide for laterally aligning the lock bolt within the strike plate opening in a direction generally orthogonal to a plane in which the lock bolt travels when transitioning from the unlocked orientation to the locked orientation. Methods of operation and door assemblies including the lock assembly are provided.

  • Publication number: 20190323116
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing a component (10) that has a metallic substrate (14), in particular made of brass or aluminum, and an anti-corrosion coating applied to a surface of the substrate (14). The anti-corrosion coating (16) comprises a diffusion layer (20) and an anti-corrosion layer (30). The diffusion layer (20) is applied directly to the surface (18) of the substrate (14), and comprises, at least in sections, a material that generates a space-filling corrosion product (38) when it comes in contact with a corrosion agent (32). The anti-corrosion layer (30) has at least one first anti-corrosion layer (22a, 22b, 22c) and at least one second anti-corrosion layer (24a, 24b). The first anti-corrosion layer (22a, 22b, 22c) forms a barrier for the corrosion agent (32), and the second anti-corrosion layer (24a, 24b) contains a material that generate a space-filling corrosion product (38) when it comes in contact with a corrosion agent (32. The process comprises the following steps: a.

  • Publication number: 20190119964
Abstract: A multi-panel door or window apparatus is provided. The apparatus has at least first and second panels that are foldable relative to one another. An automatic latch arrangement is provided that automatically actuates a shootbolt to engage a track of the apparatus as the first and second panels transition towards a co-planar relationship. Methods of latching the apparatus are provided as well. The automatic latch arrangement independent of the door or window apparatus is also provided.

  • Patent number: 9624701
Abstract: A multi-point lock having an easy to install modular drive mechanism for shootbolts located at the top and bottom edges of a door in which the multi-point locking system is installed that requires only relatively simple door preparation. The shootbolt operating mechanism is installed into a narrow groove cut into a lateral edge of a door which may be cut using relatively simple tools in relatively quick fashion. The shootbolt actuating mechanisms are flat driverails that are made of flat barstock that fit slidably entirely within the narrow groove defined in the lateral edge of the door above and below the mortise pocket.

  • Patent number: 9506278
Abstract: A modular multi-point lock system that is both simple to install and easy to service. By inserting the lock case into a recess for containing the lock case that is located in the edge of the door, the shootbolt drive mechanism located within the lock case will engage first and second shootbolts respectively installed into recesses in the top and bottom of the door that communicate with the recess for containing the lock case, without requiring a manual interconnection to be made between the lock case and shootbolts. Similarly, the lock case can be removed from the door without removing the first and second shootbolts.

Abstract: A multi-point lock having an easy to install modular drive mechanism for bolts located at the top and bottom edges of a door in which the multi-point locking system is installed that requires only relatively simple door preparation. The bolt operating mechanism is installed into a rectangular groove cut into a lateral edge of a door which may be cut using relatively simple tools in relatively quick fashion. The multi-point lock is configured to fit doors of any size, with a single kit accommodating doors of different thicknesses, in each case, with the plug-face of the lock cylinder substantially flush with a major face of a backplate of a handle set used with a particular door.

  • Patent number: 7878034
Abstract: An intuitively operable door locking arrangement and a method include, a lock-point arming input element that is connected directly to a handle-operated control element of the locking arrangement, rather than being connected directly to a lock-point of the door locking arrangement. The locking arrangement and method may be used in hinged single or multiple-panel installations, having single, and/or multiple lock-points, may allow keyless locking from outside, and may include a latching arrangement. In active door locking apparatuses, the lock-point is movable only through operation of the handle-operated control element. The lock point arming element is selectively moveable between an armed and a disarmed position thereof, and is configured and connected to the handle-operated control element in such a manner that the handle-operated control element may be used to move the lock-point to the locked position thereof only when the lock-point arming input element is in the armed position thereof.

  • Patent number: 5775745
Abstract: A latch and lockset system comprises a common unit having a socket (30) that houses a rotor (40) pivotably supporting a catch (50) on a pin (53) and attached to latch means (handles 20, 22). As the lockset (10) is assembled, its components (50, 53, 40, 33/34, 23) secure themselves successively. The unit is mounted in a transversal bore (Q) of a door leaf (T) by introducing a handle (20) sideways so as to point outwardly towards the free door edge whereby the common unit becomes seated in the transversal bore (Q); then the handle main portion (24) is pivoted by 180.degree. to reach its idle position in which the handle (20) is biased by a returning spring block (34) on the rotor (40). A guide bush (18) radially screwed into the socket (30) for securing it in a longitudinal bore (L) receives a spring-biased bolt (15).
