Patent number: 6375177Abstract: A base plate for building devices for clamping workpieces in a defined and reproducible position has first grid points arranged in a uniform grid pattern defined by perpendicularly crossing center lines spaced from one another by a uniform grid pattern spacing. The first grid points describe an ideal surface of the base plate. Each first grid point is a first concave spherical depression having a center point. Each center point is located on a point of interception of the perpendicularly crossing center lines.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1999Date of Patent: April 23, 2002Assignee: Horst Witte Entwicklungs- und Vertriebs-KGInventor: Horst Witte

Patent number: 5904346Abstract: A device for finely adjusting stop members, locating bolts, contoured fitting pieces or adapters and similar components on chucking devices, particularly for measuring machines and machine tools, includes a base member to be fastened to the chucking device and a tightening screw. A first guide member which is adjustable in the axial direction of the tightening screw is mounted on the base member. A second guide member mounted on the first guide member is adjustable transversely of the axial direction of the tightening screw. Mounted on the second guide member is an end member which is adjustable in the adjusting plane of the second guide member but transversely of the adjusting direction of the second guide member. The tightening screw extends through bores formed in the base member, the first and second guide members and the end member which are arranged one on top of the other.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 1997Date of Patent: May 18, 1999Assignee: Horst Witte Entwicklungs- und Vertriebs-KGInventor: Andreas Witte

Patent number: 5437135Abstract: A diagonal strut for a system for the construction of arrangements used for mounting workpieces on machine tool tables in a defined and reproducible position. The system includes a base plate and receiving members connected to each other by the diagonal strut. The base plate and the receiving members have connecting bores whose axes are arranged spaced from each other at unit spacings. The diagonal strut has transverse connecting bores whose axes are spaced apart at a distance which corresponds to five times the unit spacing or a multiple thereof. Two end faces are arranged at each end of the diagonal strut. The end faces extend at a right angle relative to each other and one of the end faces includes an angle of 36.87.degree. with a centerline extending through the axes of the transverse connecting bores and the other end face includes an angle of 53.13.degree. with the centerline.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1993Date of Patent: August 1, 1995Assignee: Horst Witte Entwicklungs und Vertriebs-KGInventor: Horst Witte

Patent number: 4886257Abstract: A system for the assembly of devices for fixing workpieces to machine tool tables, including a base plate, which can be fixed to the machine tool table, or the like. Fitting holes are formed in the base plate with regular coordinate spacings. In the base plate, in a plane at right angles to the fitting holes, are formed preferably intersecting cross holes, whose diameter corresponds to that of the fitting holes. Nuts for the fitting screws are inserted both in the cross holes and the fitting holes, in order to fix mounting parts to the base plate. The cross-section of each nut corresponds to that of each cross and fitting hole. The mounting parts are preferably provided with cross and fitting holes similar in arrangement to the base plate.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 1988Date of Patent: December 12, 1989Assignee: Horst Witte Entwicklungs-und Vertriebs KGInventor: Horst Witte

Patent number: 4722564Abstract: An apparatus for clamping workpieces made from varied materials and complicated shapes comprises a body and clamping member, which are formed by adhesive films which can be used a number of times. These adhesive films can be moved from a position above the clamping surface of the body into a position below the clamping surface. In the first position, the workpiece is e.g. reliably fixed by pressing down. The adhesive film is then lowered into the plane of the clamping surface, so that the workpiece rests thereon and is reliably and firmly supported there for machining purposes. The adhesive film simultaneously secures the workpiece in the machining position. When machining is ended, the adhesive film is lowered beneath the plane of the clamping surface, so that the adhesive connection can be broken and the workpiece removed. The adhesive film can be moved mechanically, e.g. by an eccentric drive, or alternatively by a hydraulic or pneumatic mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1986Date of Patent: February 2, 1988Assignee: Horst Witte Entwicklungs- und Vertriebs KGInventor: Horst Witte
