  • Patent number: 6031170
Abstract: The invention concerns a tip structure for a support leg for a stand. The stand may be used for supporting a musical instrument. The support leg has a main part with a bottom end. A bar receiving opening opens into the bottom end of the main support. An elongated hole is formed in the side of the support leg and communicates into the bar receiving opening. An end cap is fitted over the bottom end of the leg. The cap has a bottom opening that is aligned with the bar receiving opening at the bottom of the support leg. The cap has an adjustment groove along the side of the cap which overlies the elongated hole in the leg. A tip bar is inserted in the bar receiving opening in the leg and is projectable through the opening in the cap.

  • Patent number: 6011208
Abstract: The invention relates to a drum hoop holding device for a drum pedal, and the drum pedal includes a pivotal pedal plate. The holding device includes a hoop clamp body with a front part that supports a jaw that clamps the drum hoop against a support base of the pedal. The support base includes an inclined elastic material surface against which the hoop is clamped. The clamp body is oriented so that the front part is below the pedal while the rear part is laterally out from under the pedal. The clamp body has a hole through it, a spring that pushes the clamp body up, a bolt that passes through the hole with a seat atop the clamp body that receives the tightening nut and the curvature of the seat in the top of the clamp body cooperates with the curvature of the surface of the nut to permit orientation of the clamp body according to the thickness of the drum hoop to the clamp. A tightening bolt at the rear of the clamp body tightens the jaw at the front of the clamp body against the drum hoop.

  • Patent number: 5994635
Abstract: A connecting structure for connecting an inner and an outer rod wherein at least one and more typically two screws at circumferentially spaced apart locations attach the inner and outer rods. An elastic seating plate has an insertion opening in from one side edge followed by a compressive enveloping opening therein which envelopes each of the screws and is also positioned radially outward of the outer rod, so that when the screws are released from the outer rod, they do not fall away from the seating plate. This also prevents idling of the screws. The connecting structure is usable on a drum pedal where a remote pedal is operated for operating a drum beater through a connecting rod on which there is at least one of the connecting structures.

  • Patent number: 5990400
Abstract: A connection between a pivotable pedal plate of a foot pedal for operating a drum, cymbal, or the like instrument and a relatively stationary heel plate. The pivot connection includes an axle that extends through flanges projecting rearwardly from the pedal plate and through a projection forwardly of the heel plate that extends into the recess between the flanges of the pedal plate. Screws hold the axle firmly to either the pedal plate or the heel plate and bearings in the other of the heel plate and the pedal plate receive the axle and permit relative motion between the other plate and the axle without any gap between the axle and either of the plates as would be usual in the prior art.

  • Patent number: 5945616
Abstract: A high hat stand has a lower support pipe and an upper pipe above the lower pipe and to which a fixed cymbal is attached. An upper movable cymbal is relatively movable with respect to the lower cymbal by an operating shaft that passes through the lower support pipe and is connected with a swingable foot pedal. Two pivotable legs are supported to the pipe. Together with the foot pedal support body, the two legs support the lower pipe. The pivot orientation of the legs determines the tilt of the pipe. The pedal is connected with a support and a ground member on the support, the ground member being movable outward from the lower pipe for establishing, along with a position of the legs, the tilt orientation of the lower pipe and the high hat stand.

  • Patent number: 5842742
Abstract: A chair including a mechanism for preventing shaking of the chair due to vibration of a drum performance, or the like. The chair seat is attached to an upper support post by a holder that clamps around the upper support post. The holder includes two opposite holder parts which are drawn together by tightening screws. The upper support post is received in the interior of a lower support tube. A shaking prevention compression bush is disposed on the lower part of the upper support inside the interior of the lower support and presses against the interior wall of the lower support preventing shaking of the upper and lower supports.

  • Patent number: 5811703
Abstract: The body of an electric guitar includes a lower member defining the bottom of the guitar and having a concave on its upper surface for receiving an upper member. The concave is defined by a peripheral edge region of the lower member. The periphery of the upper member meets the inner periphery of the peripheral edge region of the lower member at a peripheral joint line. The height of the upper member where it meets the periphery of the lower member has the same height, forming a smooth joint line on the upper surface of the bottom member and in from the edge region. The materials of the upper and lower members differ from each other and/or their colors are different. The outer periphery of the peripheral edge region is rounded in the thickness dimension.

  • Patent number: 5785287
Abstract: A tip part for a support leg of a chair or the like. The support leg having a pair of leg members. A leg tip piece is sandwiched between the leg members with the leg members seated in concave recesses in the tip piece. A stay extends into a groove in the main body of the tip piece and is journaled to the leg members by a rivet through the tip piece. The lower end of the tip piece is in turn installed at the bottom of an opening in an end cap for the leg. The bottom of the tip piece disperses the pressure exerted by the load on the leg to avoid damage to the end cap due to concentration of the load.

  • Patent number: 5739447
Abstract: An attachment and detachment mechanism for a weight held on the boom rod of a boom cymbal stand. The weight has a hole in one side over which a cover is installed and there is an aligned hole in the cover. A spring operated boom rod installation and detaching lever which is disposed between the cover and the side of the weight, has a window through it so that the boom rod can be installed through the cover, the window and into the hole in the weight. The periphery of the window is engagable in a groove in the boom rod under the bias of a spring which moves the lever to cause such engagement. Moving the lever counter to the spring force releases the boom rod so that it can be withdrawn from the hole in the weight and permits insertion of the boom rod in the hole.
