    Abstract: An ice product making machine or apparatus has a pair of freezing plates arranged vertically and in a facing relation to each other. These freezing plates are provided with a plurality of rib-like partitions extending in the downflow direction of the ice making water, flat freezing sections defined between the adjoining partitions of the freezing plates, a cooling coil mounted in direct mechanical contact with the back sides of the respective freezing plates, and a flushing water feed pipe mounted to an upper portion of the freezing plates. These partitions are arranged in a staggered relation to one another so that the partitions and freezing sections of the one freezing plate are confronted by the freezing sections and partitions of the other freezing plate, respectively.

    Abstract: The water spray unit is used in conjunction with an ice product making machine having an upright freezing plate or freezing plates, on the surface or surfaces of which a plurality of guide ribs or projections are vertically formed at a preset transverse distance from one another. The spray unit has a main body provided above the freezing plate or freezing plates and presenting a large number of spray apertures, and a plurality of water spray guide plates disposed between the guide ribs or projections and presenting a pair of upright side flanges. The spray water is discharged from the spray apertures and caused to descend along the freezing plate or freezing plates by way of the water spray guide plates, the upright side flanges and the guide ribs or projections as a turbulence-free uniform stream.

    Abstract: The ice making machine constructed in accordance with the invention has an ice making mold with a plurality of ice making cells opened at the bottom, a water tank, water spray nozzles adapted for spraying the water contained in the water tank towards said ice making cells, an ice stocker adapted for storage of ice cubes formed in and harvested from said ice making cells, and an inclined plate having water spray openings and recovery openings and mounted between said ice making mold and the water spray nozzles.The inclined plate comprises a corrugated upper section, a similarly corrugated lower section and a transition section having a flat surface and interconnecting said upper and lower sections. The recesses and projections of the upper section are aligned respectively with projections and recesses of said lower section in the direction in which the water and ice cubes are moved on the inclined plate.

    Abstract: A cutter for an auger type icemaker including an auger shaft with an auger edge to scrape and guide upward the ice formed on the inner surface of a refrigerated casing, an extrusion head fitted to the upper end portion of the auger shaft and provided with ice compressing passages, and a cutter attached to the upper end of the auger shaft over the extrusion head for breaking the ice from the ice compressing passages. A positioning portion is disposed on the upper end of the auger shaft to position the cutter at a predetermined circumferential location. The cutter is provided with a cutter edge supporting portion with an attaching portion which is attached to the positioning portion and which can change the positioning location of the cutter in cooperation with the positioning portion.

    Abstract: An apparatus, made in accordance with the present invention, comprises an ice-making unit for making pure ice using a refrigeration system, an electric heater for melting into fresh water the ice produced by the ice-making unit, a tank for storing the fresh water resulting from the melting, a sensor for sensing the water temperature prevailing in the tank, and a control responsive to a signal from the sensor to actuate the heater for maintaining the water temperature at a predetermined value. The apparatus further comprises a sensor for sensing the water level in the tank, and a control responsive to a signal from the water level sensor to control the operation of the ice-making unit for maintaining the water level at a predetermined value.

    Abstract: In an auger type icemaker comprising an auger in a refrigeration cylinder, an extrusion head disposed in the upper end of the auger, and a plurality of bosses disposed in the extrusion head ice compressing passages and extending axially downward and radially outward, to prevent choking of ice particles in the refrigeration cylinder, the bosses extending further downward at a predetermined distance from the lower end surface of the extrusion head and partially overlap the auger. The diameter of the auger corresponding to the overlapping portion is smaller than that of the other portions.
