Abstract: A portable GPS communication device and system is disclosed, the device being particularly suitable for magnetic mounting on the undercarriage of a vehicle, the device comprising a unique patch antenna arrangement wherein stacked plates are intimately encased in a polymer comprising conductive metal particles, arranged to enable electromagnetic reception without a direct line-of-sight view of orbiting satellites, the device also comprising a conventional portable GPS processing unit which determines location of itself and a conventional wireless two-way communication means arranged to receive data from the GPS unit and transmit location data to a remote communication means by remote command. The system has particular utility when overlaid on the internet to provide remote computer observation of location and remote control of device operating parameters.
