Patents Assigned to Hozelock Limited
  • Patent number: 10455782
Abstract: A garden watering controller for operating a valve for controlling a supply of water into a garden watering arrangement includes a light sensor for sensing ambient light levels and a central unit for receiving sensed light level signals from the light sensor and for outputting control signals for operating the valve in dependence on the sensed light level signals. The central unit may be arranged to determine the occurrence of dawn and dusk.

  • Patent number: 6619313
Abstract: A hose reel has a drum (4) having a damper (15) for damping rotational movement of the drum in at least one direction, corresponding to the unwinding of a hose pipe from the drum. The damper prevents unwanted unwinding of hose pipe from the drum due to inertia in the latter.

  • Patent number: 6416009
Abstract: A retractable hose reel assembly comprises a reel (2) rotatably mounted in a casing (1) and a torsion spring (8) for rotating the reel in a direction corresponding to winding of the hose on the reel (2). A ratchet (14) and pawl (18) prevent or limit rotational movement of the reel (2) in the winding direction. A lever (20) is manually movable to a locking position in which unwinding movement of the reel (2) is prevented, for example to prevent vandalism or to prevent a child pulling the hose from the reel and suffering discomfort or injury as a result of retraction of the hose by the spring (8).

  • Patent number: 6375833
Abstract: A filter assembly for filtering pond or aquarium water includes a container (1,2) with an inlet chamber (15) having an upstream region (36) and a downstream outlet (13) leading to an outlet chamber (22). A filter (16) is positioned in the inlet chamber (15) between the upstream region (36) and the outlet (13). In use, progressive clogging of the filter causes the water pressure in the upstream region (36) to rise until it reaches a predetermined threshold when a normally-closed relief valve (28,29) opens to allow water to pass from the upstream region (36) to the outlet chamber (22) without passing through the filter (16). The valve has a coloured valve stem (28) providing a visual indication that the valve is open and that the filter is blocked and requires cleaning. In one embodiment, the outlet chamber (22) contains a source (19) of ultra-violet radiation to which the flow of water is exposed, regardless of whether the valve (28,29) is in the open or closed condition.

  • Patent number: 5323968
Abstract: A water spray gun has a barrel, the front of which includes a nozzle which is operable to eject water in a chosen one of a number of different patterns. At the rear of the barrel there is provided a handle having a passage for water supplied to the gun. The admission of water through the handle and thence into the barrel is controlled by a trigger which is squeezable against the handle. In use, the pattern of water ejected by the nozzle is selected using a rotatable valve member within the rear end of the barrel. The annular position of the valve member is selected using a control element at the rear end of the barrel. The valve directs water either to a central passage or to an outer annular passage extending through the barrel to feed water to respective alternative areas of the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4219162
Abstract: A pistol grip spray nozzle for spraying a liquid comprises a nozzle body and a handle pivotally mounted on the nozzle body and movable by manual grip around the handle and nozzle body together to operate a valve within the nozzle body for controlling the flow of liquid issuing from the nozzle body. The handle and the body have co-operating male and female formations, one formation on the nozzle and the other formation on the handle. The male formation fits in the female formation with a snap action to provide the pivotal mounting of the handle on the body, the male and female formations being so arranged that pivoting of the handle to control the flow of fluid tends to maintain the male and female formations fitted together.
