Abstract: A mailbox system (10) for the delivery and retrieval of mail, is described. The mailbox system has a rack ladder system (12) within which is mounted mailboxes and parcel lockers (30). The back of the mailbox system is closed by back doors (46 and 48). The doors are mounted by hinges (50) to the rear face plates (42) of the rack ladder system. The doors have a locking system (52) which prevents the doors from being opened from the inside of the boxes or lockers and allows quick and easy access to all the boxes or lockers at the same time. The locking system has a top and bottom lock rod (54 and 56) and a handle assembly (60). When the handle (66) of the handle assembly is rotated, the rods move into and out of top and bottom lock brackets (78 and 80) to allow for locking and unlocking the doors.
Abstract: A lobby table (10) for use in a post office lobby is described. The lobby table has lockable boxes (14) which are mounted together and spaced apart by front and back horizontal spacers (64 and 66). A counter top (12) is mounted on the uppermost horizontal row of lockable boxes and is supported by the underlying lockable boxes. The lockable boxes have a top wall (14A), a bottom wall (14B) and two sidewalls (14C) which form a front opening (14D) which allows access to the interior of the lockable box. The perimeter of the front opening is surrounded by a frame (30) formed by a top frame member (32), a bottom frame member (34), a right frame member (36) and a left frame member (38). The lockable box can also be provided with a central wall and a center frame member (42) in order to provide right and left small boxes (24 and 26).
Abstract: The present invention relates to an equipment (12) enclosure which is particularly adapted for post office use is described. In particular the present invention relates to a post office box or related equipment (12) enclosure which has an inner unit (11) which rotates in a housing (10) so that the inner unit can expose equipment on one side (10b) for customer use and provide secure access for reloading of the equipment by means of doors (31) or the like on the back side of the equipment. The equipment is particularly adapted to mount standard mailbox inserts (12) having locking doors (12a).
