Patent number: 12054324Abstract: A container that is configured to have an open state and a closed state, in which the container includes an outer cell having a plurality of side panels including a first side panel and a second side panel. The outer cell defines a chamber having a first opening. An inner locking member is attached to an inner wall of the first side panel. An extension panel is coupled to the second side panel. The extension panel includes a first cover panel and a tuck flap, in which the tuck flap includes an extension member and a tuck flap locking member. In the closed state of the container, the first cover panel covers the first opening, and the extension member and the tuck flap locking member are tucked inside the chamber. A bias member biases the tuck flap locking member toward a first position to cause the tuck flap locking member to engage the inner locking member.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2021Date of Patent: August 6, 2024Assignee: Hub Folding Box Company, Inc.Inventors: Zane Peterson, David Kamyk

Patent number: 11970317Abstract: A carton includes a tray having at least one locking tab; and a sleeve having an inner wall having indentations, in which the tray and the sleeve are shaped and sized to enable the tray to move within the sleeve. Then at least one locking tab is configured to engage at least one of the indentations to allow the tray to move in a first direction relative to the sleeve and provide a resistance to discourage the tray from moving in a second direction opposite the first direction relative to the sleeve.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2021Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Hub Folding Box Company, Inc.Inventors: Zane Peterson, David Kamyk

Patent number: 9327891Abstract: Disclosed is a tamper resistant blister pack having a paperboard assembly attached to, and surrounding, at least a part of a flange on the blister (window element). An upper ply of the assembly is attached to an upper side of the flange. Additionally, although in some instances not necessary, a lower ply is attached to the lower side of the flange. The plies of the assembly have a paperboard layer, an upper film layer laminated to an upper side of the paperboard layer and a lower film layer laminated to a lower side of the paperboard layer. These layers and their attachment to the blister provide tear resistance without crisscrossing film orientation. Methods of making the pack are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2014Date of Patent: May 3, 2016Assignee: Hub Folding Box Company, Inc.Inventor: Bryon C. Brandow

Patent number: 7080731Abstract: Packaging for an object such as a digital recording medium that is contained within a plastic molded tray that is mounted on a panel. The tray is molded with extensions from opposite edges of one surface of the tray. Each extension folds to form a peripheral wall along that edge and it engages an element of the tray to permanently lock the extension in place. In their locked positions, the extensions fold around opposite edges of the panel so that the panel is locked in place under the tray.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 2004Date of Patent: July 25, 2006Assignee: Hub Folding Box Company, Inc.Inventors: Patrick O'Brien, H. Patent number: 5988625Abstract: A vertically oriented feeder for a packaging manufacturing system is provided. The feeder supports a stack of blanks in an upright position and in a confronting relationship with a vertical vacuum belt. The vacuum belt draws a front blank off of the stack and pulls it upward past a gate and between the vacuum belt and a friction belt. After the blank is pulled upward past the gate, a lifting device is activated to push the stack away from the vacuum belt and prevent additional blanks from being drawn upward by the vacuum belt until the lifting device is retracted or de-energized. The lifting device ensures that adequate spacing is provided between adjacent blanks and that the timing of the placement of the blanks on the succeeding flighted belt is sufficiently accurate so that downstream operations may be carried out by automated equipment.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 1998Date of Patent: November 23, 1999Assignee: Hub Folding Box Company, Inc.Inventor: Mark A.
