  • Patent number: 5804125
Abstract: Flow lines are eliminated from workpieces injection-molded from liquid crystal polymers, fiber-filled or mineral-filled thermoplastics by selecting a liquified polymer having a linear coefficient of thermal expansion less than (2-6).times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.K, providing a flow path in a mold for the polymer in two directions around a core in the mold, and subjecting the polymer to a shearing energy only simultaneously with mold filling over at least part of the flow path, whereby molecules of the polymer are disoriented and fail to produce a rigid alignment.

  • Patent number: 5790762
Abstract: An adhesive is to be provided of which one component can be stored virtually with exclusion of air, in anaerobicform, for a prolonged period, and can thus be introduced into the sleeve of an optical connector in a production operation, and the second component of which can be introduced into the first component with the fiber at the assembly site. This is achieved by an adhesive consisting of at least two components, in which the reaction is initiated by interface contact of the two components. For this purpose the two components each comprise unsaturated compounds which are dissolved in mono- and/or polyfunctional acrylates. One component of the adhesive comprises an organometallic compound and the other component an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and peroxide.

  • Patent number: 5764114
Abstract: An electro-magnetic pulse filter which can be used simultaneously for a plurality of frequency bands includes a housing (20) mounted in the outer conductor (10) and a .lambda./4 short-circuiting conductor (24), which is connected in an electrically conductive fashion to the inner conductor of a coaxial line (30) and is connected in an electrically conductive fashion to the end face of a housing (20). Arranged between the housing (20) and the short-circuiting conductor (24) is at least one sleeve (25) which is connected to the latter in a conductive fashion. The length of the short-circuiting line (24) corresponds to the .lambda./4 length of the lowest frequency band transmitted. Considered together, the sleeves (25, 26) produce a number of cavity resonators which are connected in series and are tuned with their length to various midband frequencies.

  • Patent number: 5746623
Abstract: A coaxial electrical connecting line is provided with an integrated adjusting device 4 for the mechanical fine adjustment of the electrical length of the line. The adjusting device has outside and inside conductors 6, 7. The outside conductor has two housing parts 14, 15 which can be phaselessly moved toward and away from each other between two terminal positions by turning a clamping sleeve 9. The inside conductor is provided with two telescoping connecting parts 16, 18 that can also be moved toward and away from each other; each is connected with an associated housing part. The inside diameters (D) of the two housing parts and the outside diameters (d) of the two connecting parts are so dimensioned that the adjusting device has a constant impedance over its entire length.

  • Patent number: 5722856
Abstract: An apparatus for electrical connection of one end of a conductor (5) of a coaxial cable (1) with a conductor (14) of a coaxial connector (6). A spring-like, bellows-shaped intermediate piece (25) is compressed between the conductor (5) at one end and the conductor (14) of the coaxial connector (6) at the opposite end. The intermediate piece prevents temperature changes and mechanical effects from adversely affecting the stability of the connection.

  • Patent number: 5516985
Abstract: A cable end cap including a tubular sleeve (3), which is closed at a front end and is made of a thermoplastic material, and an elastomer sealing element (4) with sealing lips (41). Sleeve (3) and sealing element (4) are connected sealingly together by a mounting ring (10). Thus, cut off cable ends can be sealed reliably with little complexity.

  • Patent number: 5355143
Abstract: A flat antenna is disclosed which consists of a substrate having applied thereto an electrically conductive elements, or patches, in a pattern and a metal layer having a slot pattern aligned with the patches, as well as a distribution network mounted on both sides thereof a layer of foamed material. The antenna further includes a reflector consisting of a metal plate. The external surface of the antenna, consisting of a glass substrate surface, can easily be cleaned. Such an antenna can be manufactured inexpensively by using glass and a foamed material. The various patch patterns can be created by screen printing or metallization. The propagation pattern may be shaped as desired the antenna constructed according to the present invention.

  • Patent number: 5350797
Abstract: The thermo-setting reaction adhesive present as a mono-component system contains as its essential components respectively at least a) one unsaturated scaffold polymer based on a non-cross-linked elastomer in a share of 5 to 90% by weight, b) one unsaturated polyester in a share of 5 to 90% by weight, c) one unsaturated cross-linking agent in a share of 0.1 to 50% by weight, d) one setting catalyst which provides radicals with an activation temperature of 60.degree. to 300.degree. C. in a share of 0.2 to 6% by weight and f) optionally other additives. The adhesive is distinguished by high storage stability and high adhesive strength with a short cross-linking time and it is particularly suitable for bonding thermo-shrinking molded parts.

  • Patent number: 4615115
Abstract: A flexible coaxial cable has a special plug connector with a tensile strength comparable to that of the cable at the connecting point to the cable. This plug connector (14) consists of a nipple (1) which is threaded with a plug sleeve (3). Between these two plug elements is arranged a contact ring (2) which is soldered to the covering (23). This contact ring (2) includes a bore (13), through which the soldering can be optically controlled and the vapors can be vented during soldering. The end surfaces of the contact ring (2) and the cable dielectric (21) are face-turned. Accordingly, the cable lengths can also be precisely determined. The exposed inner conductor (20) is soldered to a plug pin (4). The plug dielectric (5), plug pin (4) and the plug housing (3) itself are held in rigid positions in the plug housing (3) by means of a bore (10) filled with epoxy resin (9) and by a constriction (11) in the plug pin (4).

  • Patent number: 4395074
Abstract: A connecting spike (16, 17, 18) is used for flexibly interconnecting two chain links (1, 2) of a track, specifically for tanks. The spike comprises a metal bolt (8) with a vulcanized-on rubber sheathing (13). On inserting spike (16) into bores (5) of chain links (1, 2), it is elastically deformed. Sheathing (13) is one-part developed and has thicker and thinner points (14 resp. 15), the material strengths of which are higher (S.sub.o) resp. lower (S.sub.2) than is the difference between the radius of bolt (8) and that of bores (5). This improvement provides increased life and reduced chain expansion because the connecting spike completely fills up the bores.
