Abstract: A description is given of a molding compound made of elastomeric polyolefin rubbers, polyethylene and/or ethylene copolymers and additives, said compound comprising per 100 parts of polyolefin rubber, 25 to 100 parts by weight of polyethylene and/or ethylene copolymers having a MFI (190/2,16) of less than 0.1 [g/10 min], and between 16 and 28 parts by weight of a mineral oil. Also described is an elastic sealing strip, more particularly a roof sealing strip, made from the said molding compound by calendering or extruding.
Abstract: A vehicle including at least one vehicle door having a peripheral are surrounding door gasket wherein a hinge or swivel axis penetrates the vehicle body so that the vehicle door, in such a manner that the vehicle door during opening, is moved in a partial zone toward the interior of the vehicle and in the remaining region in an opposite direction, and with the door gasket is located so that it completely seals the external or outer door gap, formed between the vehicle or outer door and the body, at or in the immediate vicinity of the outer wall of the door.
Abstract: Zirconium(IV) chelates with citric acid ester radicals and optionally with alkoxy groups are prepared from tetraalkoxy zirconate and a citric acid ester; they are useful as components of printing inks.
Abstract: The invention describes a weatherable, plasticizer-free, uncrosslinked, and deep-drawable sheet, especially for the internal outfitting and external outfitting of automotive vehicles, as well as a process for its production, containing 65-25% by weight of a partially crystalline ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer and 35-75% by weight of a homo- and/or copolymer of propylene, 0-10% by weight of fillers, as well as stabilizers and lubricants, the extruded or calendered sheet exhibiting a tensile strength at break in the longitudinal direction of at least 20 N/mm.sup.2. An advantageous further development of the invention comprises a composite sheet of EPDM/PP sheet with a crosslinked polyolefin foam layer.

Abstract: Radiation-setting (meth)acrylate-functional polyesters prepared from base polyesters which are fluid at room temperature and have molecular weights of 1,000 or more as well as aliphatic side chains bound to the main chain by ester bridges and, in some cases, ether bridges, and in which a maximum of 90% of the original hydroxyl groups of the base polyester are functionalized, are usable for coatings and especially as adhesives free of solvents.
Abstract: Pressure-sensitive adhesives composed of radiation-cured (meth)acrylic-functional polyesters are prepared from base polyesters, fluid at room temperature, which have molecular weights of 1,000 to 10,000 and branched main chain, and/or from new polyesters having aliphatic side chains bound by ester bridges or, in some cases, ether bridges to the main chain, followed by functionalization of a maximum of 90% of the original hydroxyl groups of the base polyesters by reaction with (meth)acrylate compounds, and crosslinked by electron beam or ultraviolet radiation in a thin coating on a support. The new pressure-sensitive adhesives have the property and the advantage of being cross-linkable by radiation without the use of solvents or diluents.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the esterification of the halides of titanium, zirconium or hafnium. The esterification takes place in two steps. The first step is performed in the absence of acid acceptors, and the alcohol is introduced into the metal halide dissolved in a solvent, without any appreciable contact with the gas phase. The reactor must be held at the boiling temperature. In this step at least half of the alcohol needed for the entire reaction is used. The second esterification step is performed in a known manner with the addition of acid acceptors after the hydrogen halide that formed in the first esterification step has been removed.
Abstract: The invention describes a multi-ply, self-adhesive and deep-drawable protective sheet, especially for the internal and external outfitting of automotive vehicles, consisting of a carrier sheet containing a thermoplastic synthetic resin based on an ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer and/or an ethylene-propylene copolymer and a homo- and/or copolymer of propylene, small amounts of fillers and conventional additives; a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer based on an alkyl acrylate and/or methacrylate and/or a copolymerizable, ethylenically unsaturated monomer, such as acylic acid, and a cover layer of a unilaterally siliconized polyolefin film.
