  • Patent number: 10848345
Abstract: Data communications methods and systems for data packets transmitted via tunnel sessions. Satellite data communication system providing data communication services between two or more network node devices via a satellite or other data communication system are typically associated with round trip times that can cause delay in the exchange of data. Many conventional protocols, such as TCP, are not well designed for operating across links with such long delays. To address this and provide a more acceptable end-user experience, the system can include a common acceleration and optimization processor configured to provide various network acceleration and/or optimization functions and a tunnel processor configured to provide tunnel protocol-specific processing for multi-protocol encapsulated traffic.

  • Patent number: 10841193
Abstract: A system comprises a first computing device including a processor programmed to define a plurality of download slots during a download session, each of the download slots being a predetermined period of time. The processor further selects download slots from the plurality of download slots during which a first amount of data in the download buffer remained greater than or equal to a first predetermined threshold. For each of the selected download slots, the processor determines a first download throughput rate. The processor calculates a session download throughput rate based on the first download throughput rates, and reports the session download throughput rates to a second computing device.

  • Patent number: 10826597
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for adjusting the transmission power of satellite transceivers based on estimated interference. In some implementations, a satellite transceiver receives a data structure that specifies an interference compensation value for at least one frequency channel on which the satellite transceiver can transmit. The interference compensation value for the frequency channel is based on estimated interference imposed on satellite transmissions transmitted by the transceiver on the frequency channel. The transceiver receives data specifying a second transmit frequency channel to use for a second satellite transmission. A first interference compensation value for a first frequency channel and a second interference compensation value for the second frequency channel are identified from the data structure.

  • Patent number: 10812250
Abstract: Interference cancellation in a receiver can be used to improve bandwidth efficiency. The transmission of bursts from different terminals scheduled at separate time intervals can overlap partially such that time used for information transmission is optimized. For example, a receiver includes a signal processor including instructions executable to select first data including a first burst and a successive second burst from a transmission. The signal processor demodulates and decodes information from the first burst. The signal processor further generates a remodulated first burst based on recoded and remodulated information and generates second data by subtracting the remodulated first burst from the first data. The signal processor synchronizes with a stored symbol pattern in the second burst; and demodulates and decodes the information from the second burst. With such arrangement, the performance of each link is not affected by the partially overlapping burst.
