Publication number: 20140006869Abstract: Terminal diagnosis self correction is disclosed. A service inquiry is received regarding a problem with a terminal from a user. Terminal statistics are obtained remotely from the terminal and stored in a site diagnosis log. An initial diagnosis is determined with a site diagnostic tool using the terminal statistics. The initial diagnosis is stored in the site diagnosis log. A technician is dispatched to repair the terminal. Terminal statistics are obtained locally at the terminal and stored in an onsite validation tool log. An onsite diagnosis is determined using an onsite validation tool and stored the onsite validation tool log. The initial and onsite diagnoses are compared. In response to a difference between the initial and onsite diagnoses, the remotely and locally obtained terminal statistics are compared. The site diagnostic tool is adjusted based on the initial diagnosis, the onsite diagnosis, and the remote and local terminal statistics.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2012Publication date: January 2, 2014Applicant: HUGHES NETWORK SYSTEMS, LLCInventor: Jack Rozmaryn

Publication number: 20140004789Abstract: Systems and methods for problem signature terminal diagnosis are disclosed. In an example embodiment, measured operational statistics of a satellite terminal of a peer group of satellite terminals are received and converted into normalized operation statistics. Normalized deviations of the operational statistics are determined and compared to the threshold deviations. A diagnosis zone corresponding to a problem signature is determined based on the normalized deviations by determining that coordinates of the normalized deviations are within the diagnosis zone, comparing a ratio based on the normalized deviations to a threshold ratio, or comparing a differential of the normalized deviations to a threshold differential. A satellite terminal is diagnosed with a problem defined by the problem signature based on the determined diagnosis zone.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2012Publication date: January 2, 2014Applicant: HUGHES NETWORK SYSTEMS, LLCInventor: Jack Rozmaryn

Patent number: 8594230Abstract: A system and method of construction of unique word sets together with an efficient method of implementing correlation with the members of the set is presented. The set of UWs is constructed by breaking a UW sequence in to equal length segments, and then multiplying this vector by an orthogonal matrix. First an arbitrary vector U is chosen of length K for a set of N UWs. Then a matrix H of size N×N is chosen. The columns of H are then repeated L times to form a matrix H?. The set of N UW consists of the rows of H?UT. N sub-correlations of the N segments of the vector U with the segments of the (suitably delayed) received signal is performed at the receiver. Then the N different outputs are obtained as Z=HCT, where C=[C0 . . . CN-1] is the vector of correlated outputs. The receiver only requires N correlators, each of length L, instead of length K, which provides a less complex and more efficient solution for detection of UW sets.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2012Date of Patent: November 26, 2013Assignee: Hughes Network Systems, LLCInventor: Neal Becker
