Patents Assigned to HUGHEY & PHILLIPS, LLC
  • Patent number: 11178741
Abstract: A lighting system includes a first light emitter configured to emit light outside a visible-light spectrum. A second light emitter is configured to emit light in a visible-light spectrum. The first and second light emitters are co-located, such as in a stacked arrangement with one light emitted atop the other. The amount of visible illumination of the second light emitter may correspond to a correlated radiant intensity of infrared light emitted by the first light emitter.

  • Patent number: 9702525
Abstract: An obstruction lighting system includes a disc having a generally planar surface. A plurality of light emitting diodes are mounted to the planar surface of the disc, a central light emitting axis of the light emitting diodes being oriented generally perpendicularly away from the planar surface. A reflector is coupled to the disc, the reflector having an outer surface in the shape of a rotated conic section, the reflector further including a projecting portion. The outer surface of the reflector has an optical axis generally perpendicular to the central light emitting axis of the light emitting diodes. Furthermore, the projecting portion of the reflector blocks light emissions from the light emitting diodes in an upwardly direction from the obstruction lighting system. The disc and a lens retainer may be configured to block light emitted by the light emitting diodes from traveling in a downwardly direction from the obstruction lighting system.

  • Patent number: 9572223
Abstract: A color-controlled light source includes a plurality of light emitting diodes, the light emitting diodes being configured to emit different colors of light, intensity of the light emitted by the light emitting diodes being selectably adjustable. A sensor receives the light emitted by the light emitting diodes and converts the received light to electrical feedback signals corresponding to the emitted light. A processor generates an electrical reference signal. An amplifier receives the reference signal and the feedback signal, compares the feedback signal and the reference signal, and generates an error signal corresponding to a difference between the feedback signal and the reference signal. A current control receives the error signal and adjusts the intensity of at least one light emitting diode to cancel the error signal. A composite color emitted by the plurality of light emitting diodes has a predetermined, closed-loop controlled chromaticity.

  • Patent number: 9297514
Abstract: A lighting system having a reflector with a plurality of reflecting surfaces. The plurality of reflecting surfaces have at least one optical axis, and the reflecting surfaces further include a linearly projected cross-section along a respective linear axis. A plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) are positioned in a line generally parallel to the linearly projected cross-section of the plurality of reflecting surfaces. The LEDs are oriented relative to an associated reflecting surface such that a central light-emitting axis of the plurality of LEDs is angled relative to the at least one optical axis of the associated reflecting surface at about 45°. The reflecting surfaces redirect and collimate a light output of the plurality of LEDs at an angle of about 45° with respect to the central light emitting axis of the plurality of LEDs.
